Title: Manager, Site Development, Americas
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Site Development to manage strategic initiatives across the Americas region. This role is critical to identifying, evaluating, and securing optimal sites for data center development, ensuring alignment with business growth, sustainability goals, and operational excellence. This position can be based remotely in anywhere in the Continental US. While a Manager in title, this is an individual contributor role on a small team with high ownership of the strategy and execution to expand EdgeConneX's data center footprint in the best way possible. Given the role and responsibilities, there will be significant travel throughout the Americas up to 25%, so living near an airport is a must.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day management of site selection and site development processes including market analysis, site identification, due diligence, power connection procurement, zoning and planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, technical consultants, transaction) to evaluate site feasibility, risks and mitigation strategies.
- Consolidate, quantify, and compare site data such as cost, site risk and constraints, schedule implications, and municipal regulations that impact sites for development.
- Ensures consistency in processes, reporting, forecasting, data integrity, siting solutions, vendor qualification, vendor contract management, and vendor pricing.
- Select and manage consultants and coordinate with internal teams to ensure there is a clear path to construction.
- Manage relationships with local authorities, utility providers and other stakeholders.
- Assist in jurisdictional agency and other “public” (e.g. City Council, special interest groups, etc.) liaison/processing for all levels of required entitlements-to-use, site development plans/documents and related approvals.
- Support strategic planning and portfolio expansion initiatives across the Americas.
- Provide regular updates and reporting to senior leadership on project status, risks, and opportunities.
- Participate in the development of business cases and project presentations required for executive decisions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong communications in English (and ideally Spanish), both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure
- Commitment to organizational excellence and constant awareness to seek opportunities to improve processes/quality of deliverables
- Superb ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities cross-functionally
- Superb ability to meet committed timelines, leveraging assistance/input from peers
- Strong and effective team player in working with various disciplines and peer groups; can cover all gamut of tasks required to ‘getting a job done’
- Strong attention to detail
Experience/Education
- Civil Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in site selection, real estate development, or infrastructure projects, preferably in the data center sector.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates with experience in the Data Center industry, Construction, or Real Estate environments are strongly encouraged to apply
