Who You Are

Ontic is scaling rapidly, and our Sales Development function is evolving to support this growth. We are hiring a second Manager of Sales Development to co-lead a dynamic SDR team and help operationalize two new strategic motions: support for Strategic Account Managers and a dedicated focus on Federal Government.

This is a high-impact, collaborative role that works alongside an experienced Sales Development leader to guide a 9-person SDR team through a period of transition and growth. Currently:

  • 6 SDRs focus on Corporate New Logo acquisition

  • 2 SDRs are transitioning to support Strategic Account Managers (new in Q3)

  • 1 SDR, a new hire, is building a Federal Government outreach motion from the ground up (new in Q3)

You’ll play a critical role in guiding team members through these changes, establishing new processes, supporting ramp and enablement, and driving coordination between Sales, Marketing, and RevOps to ensure pipeline growth and alignment.

More specifically, you would:

  • Co-lead the SDR team in partnership with the existing leader, with a focus on transitioning and enabling SDRs in new GTM motions.

  • Provide hands-on coaching and support for SDRs shifting from legacy Corporate prospecting to account-based engagement.

  • Partner with Federal and Strategic Sales leadership to design and operationalize tailored outreach campaigns.

  • Oversee onboarding, ramp plans, and performance tracking.

  • Build reporting and dashboards to ensure visibility into productivity, conversion, and coverage across segments.

  • Support pipeline creation by refining prospecting strategies aligned to segment-specific needs.

  • Foster an agile, collaborative culture that balances experimentation with accountability.

  • Develop SDR career paths and support long-term growth in both individual contributors and future leaders.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years of business development and/or SaaS sales experience.

  • 2+ years in an SDR leadership or team co-lead role, with experience managing team transitions or new GTM initiatives.

  • Experience with Salesforce, Sales Enablement platforms (e.g., Gong), and SDR tooling (Outreach, SalesLoft, ZoomInfo, Sales Navigator).

  • Strong understanding of account-based and outbound sales motions.

  • Ability to drive alignment across Marketing, Sales, and RevOps during times of change.

  • Track record of ramping SDRs quickly and effectively in new roles or segments.

  • Passion for coaching and developing talent in evolving team structures.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
