Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, Equipment Monitoring, and Site Visibility. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Manager II, Sales Operations to lead our Revenue systems, tools, and top initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring our sales teams have efficient processes, reliable systems, and scalable tools to drive growth.

You will oversee a team focused on sales technologies and operational excellence, while also leading cross-functional projects that enhance processes, seller experience, and revenue enablement. This role blends systems expertise with project management to deliver scalable impact.

This role is open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, NYC Metro Area, and Washington, D.C. Metro Area.

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You have an innate curiosity about how businesses work: One day you’ll meet with someone in waste management and the next you may be learning about the inner workings of a food distribution center. Our top sales team members seek to learn the ins and outs of the businesses they support in order to make a larger impact.
  • You build genuine relationships with your customers: The industries we serve have relied on pen-and-paper solutions for years and haven’t been met with the type of technology we offer. Our customer's value earned trust and human relationships built over time.
  • You want to be with the best: Samsara’s high-performance culture means you’ll be surrounded by the best and challenged to go farther than you have before.
  • You are a team player: At Samsara, sales is a team sport. We help each other out by sharing best practices and focusing on winning as a team.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead the strategy and evolution of Salesforce and connected GTM systems, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership, RevOps, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into system designs, enhancements, and tools that drive seller productivity and revenue growth.
  • Intake, assess, and prioritize requests based on effort vs. impact to build and execute a long-term roadmap for systems and tools.
Oversee end-to-end delivery of initiatives, including requirements gathering, configuration/build, UAT testing, release management, and change communications.
  • Establish KPIs and operational measurements for system health, tool adoption, and seller effectiveness, using data insights and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Act as a strategic bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that system decisions and tool investments maximize ROI and efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a small team of administrators and analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
  • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 8+ years in Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, or related GTM operations roles, with at least 3+ years managing teams.
  • Proven experience administering and optimizing Salesforce CRM in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment.
  • Strong understanding of sales technology ecosystems (CPQ, sales engagement, forecasting, analytics).
  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional projects with competing priorities.
  • Proven track record managing people directly (2–5+ reports, sometimes including a manager underneath).
  • Ability to coach and develop talent, delegate effectively, and manage workloads across others.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to align cross-functional partners and provide clear updates to senior leaders.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Asana, or Smartsheet.
  • PMP or other project management certification is a plus.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Salesforce CPQ experience.
  • Experience leading governance, vendor management, or tool evaluation processes.
High ability to communicate with both technical stakeholders and business leaders, translating complex issues into clear solutions.
  • Familiarity with APIs, integrations, or security best practices in enterprise SaaS environments.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
