Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the role:

We're looking for an AI Learning Experience Designer (AI-LXD) to build the next generation of enablement experiences.
In this role, you'll design AI-powered learning journeys, performance support tools, knowledge experiences, and dynamic enablement programs that help employees find information, build skills, and apply knowledge in the flow of work. You'll partner with enablement leaders, product marketing, subject matter experts, and AI platform teams to transform complex information into personalized, scalable learning experiences. This role combines instructional design, AI-enabled content development, knowledge management, user experience design, and data-driven optimization.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US except Alaska, Austin Metro, Boulder Metro, California, Chicago Metro, Connecticut, Dallas Metro, Denver Metro, Houston Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Seattle Metro, and Washington, D.C.

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won’t be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment.
  • You’re energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
  • You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-caliber team that will encourage you to do your best.

In this role, you will:

  • Design AI-powered learning experiences that improve knowledge retention, accelerate skill development, and drive employee performance.
  • Design and develop personalized learning journeys that adapt to learner needs and support employees throughout their onboarding and career journeys.
  • Build dynamic knowledge experiences by transforming static content into searchable, AI-enabled knowledge assets.
  • Create learning assets across multiple formats, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, videos, knowledge articles, playbooks, assessments, simulations, job aids, and interactive learning experiences.
  • Use AI to accelerate content development by generating, transforming, refining, and maintaining learning content at scale.
  • Create AI-generated simulations, practice scenarios, coaching prompts, assessments, and reinforcement activities.
  • Design learning experiences that support employees both during formal learning and in the flow of work.
  • Partner with enablement leaders, sales leaders, product marketing, enablement business partners, and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and translate them into scalable learning solutions.
  • Apply instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies to create engaging, effective, and measurable learning experiences.
  • Measure learning effectiveness using learner engagement, adoption, search behavior, knowledge utilization, and business performance data.
  • Continuously optimize learning experiences based on analytics, user feedback, and changing business needs.
  • Champion and model Samsara's operating principles while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing enablement organization.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Demonstrated experience building with AI to design, develop, and scale learning experiences, including AI-assisted content creation, prompt engineering, content transformation, and workflow optimization.
  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, sales enablement, knowledge management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and developing learning programs and enablement content for sales, customer success, partner, or other customer-facing organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience creating scalable learning experiences across multiple delivery formats, including digital, virtual, instructor-led, and in-the-flow-of-work learning.
  • Experience creating AI-generated learning assets, including simulations, assessments, role-play scenarios, coaching activities, and performance support resources.
  • Experience creating and maintaining knowledge assets, including playbooks, job aids, knowledge articles, learning pathways, and performance support resources.
  • Experience translating business priorities, performance gaps, and stakeholder requirements into scalable learning solutions.
  • Experience using learning technologies and content development tools such as Articulate, Absorb (LMS), Showpad (CMS), Jira, AI-assisted content development tools, and knowledge management systems.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience measuring learning effectiveness and using learner engagement, adoption, and business performance data to continuously improve learning experiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts and transform them into engaging, actionable learning experiences.

An ideal candidate also has:

Total Rewards

At Samsara, we build for the people who keep the global economy moving. We want owners, not passengers, which is why our rewards are designed to fuel high-impact builders. Our compensation program delivers above-market total compensation through a combination of base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles) in a high-growth public company. We meaningfully differentiate pay for our top performers, who have the opportunity to earn above-market compensation that can outpace the broader market over time.

Beyond compensation, we provide the foundations that enable long-term success: a flexible, employee-led remote model, a professional development stipend, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and more. If you’re ready to build for the long term and own the outcome, your journey starts here.

Flexible Working

At Samsara, we embrace a flexible working model that caters to the diverse needs of our teams. Our offices are open for those who prefer to work in-person and we also support remote work where it aligns with our operational requirements. For certain positions, being close to one of our offices or within a specific geographic area is important to facilitate collaboration, access to resources, or alignment with our service regions. In these cases, the job description will clearly indicate any working location requirements. Our goal is to ensure that all members of our team can contribute effectively, whether they are working on-site, in a hybrid model, or fully remotely. All offers of employment are contingent upon an individual’s ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work at the company and in the specified work location, if applicable.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
