POSITION OBJECTIVES:
  • Independently leads financial planning, analysis, and reporting for clinical trial costs.
  • Actively contributes to functional and project team leadership, offering strategic insight and consultation to support informed decision-making.
  • Drives continuous process improvement across systems and deliverables to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Lead analytical aspects of divisional financial processes. Analyze financial data and provide insights regarding business trends, financial performance, and potential areas for improvement
  • Act as a trusted business partner to study teams and build an environment to both challenge and support them with sound financial guidance and strategic insights; suggest corrective actions
  • Interact heavily with business partners to help them with their budget, forecast and analyze spend variances in their departments and identify associated risks, opportunities, and action plans
  • Track individual department & clinical trial spend
  • Prepare and distribute timely financial reports with variance explanations vs. budget and current forecasts. Conduct one-on-one review meetings with business partners
  • Deliver useful business insights through sophisticated analytics and data visualization capabilities
  • Design and distribute monthly reporting packages summarizing functional area/ or project financial results
  • Develop and maintain performance tracking and analysis for external collaborations.
  • Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Education & Experience
  • Bachelors degree
  • At least 4 years of overall business experience, and/or
  • Strong variance analysis, cost management and valuation experience
  • Pharmaceutical-Biotech industry experience or acumen in core therapeutic areas
  • Clinical Trial costing experience is a must for this role
  • Experience consulting with senior level stakeholders/clients;
  • Advanced data visualization and presentation experience

  • Analytical - Ability to analyze monthly financial results and ROI outputs and to understand how to use this information to drive projects that will impact the business
  • Teamwork - ability to work effectively in and foster a team environment.
  • Communication - Excellent oral, written, and presentation communications skills needed
  • Management - Ability to set priorities and meet specific deadlines in a changing environment, ability to be flexible, accommodating, and to deal with change effectively.
  • Relationship Skill: Ability to gain trust of high-level management and leverage relationships
  • Entrepreneurial: Ability and desire to take ownership of activities and projects, desire to shape the organization, consistent "out of the box" thinking
  • Leadership: Ability to set priorities; develop workflow processes, and direct a team of colleagues with no official reporting relationship

For Location:
USA - MA - Cambridge
U.S. Base Salary Range:
$111,800.00 - $175,670.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
