About the position
The Quality Manager will focus on developing a global supplier quality management system in sync with the e.l.f. business strategy. S/he establish a supplier qualification process to enroll suppliers meeting the e.l.f. standard and participate and lead all quality aspects during new product development discussions with suppliers. The Quality Manager will also setup quality standards and procedures for all key processes relating to non-Asia products and supplier quality management while keeping the suppliers aware of and trained on e.l.f. requirements, verifying through regular management.
 
The best candidates will embrace e.l.f.’s dynamic culture of executing with quality and speed to drive solutions. The ideal candidate will bring at least 6 years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in the cosmetic industry. We are also looking for someone with a good understanding of GMP and QA requirements who has strong collaboration and influencing skills.  Finally, strong root cause analysis experience and problem solving with minimum business impact along with a good sense of urgency is a must in the Quality Manager role.
 
This position is located in our Los Angeles Office which is open in a hybrid model of 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.

Responsibilities:
 
Business Quality Management
·      Key contact to communicate quality issues and actions until resolution to local country leaders for Naturium products.
·      Ensures distributor quality and regulatory agreements are in place
·      Establish a partnership with local Sales and Marketing leaders
·      Address marketed product quality-related incidents with various functions through effective CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action)
·      Coordinate the local distribution centers to build the quality management system and also supervise incoming inspection in the Distribution Centers when needed.
·      Travel as needed
 
New Product Quality
·      Set up quality standards and procedures for all key processes relating to Naturium and supplier quality management
·      Keep the suppliers well aware and trained on related e.l.f. requirement, and verify through daily management
·      Participate and lead all quality aspects during new product development discussions with suppliers for Naturium products
 
Quality Management System
·      Partner with the QMS Global Manager to develop the global supplier quality management system, maintain, and fine-tune with matching e.l.f. business strategy
·      Leads supplier qualification process to enroll suppliers meeting e.l.f. Standard.
 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or above degree, majoring in chemistry, biology, or other related technical disciplines preferred
  • 6+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance and experience in the cosmetic industry is highly preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in QA, CAPA, and plant operation with a good understanding of GMP and QA requirements
  • Risk analysis and management under stress
  • Good sense of urgency
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills under remote management
  • Root cause analysis and problem solving with minimum business impact

The base salary range for this role is listed above. 
 
Total compensation includes base salary, annual company-based performance bonus, and equity. Under e.l.f.’s annual bonus program, employees are eligible to earn up to 200% of their target bonus when company performance exceeds defined goals. In addition, e.l.f. provides a variety of other benefits to employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement savings plan, gender neutral parental leave, and unlimited paid time off. The amount of total compensation (including base salary) offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including geographic location, experience, specific skills, and qualifications.
