We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

The Team

Netflix Global Affairs conducts government relations, policy development, advocacy and public affairs across the globe.

The Opportunity

Netflix Global Affairs is seeking a manager to provide policy acumen and hands-on creative expertise to in-person engagements, multimedia productions, campaign strategy, external partnerships, and narrative development.

This is a global, individual contributor role that requires end-to-end creative ownership of special projects and policy engagements, and will support ongoing efforts across several teams, including Communications, Publicity, Marketing, Legal, Product, Events, and Content. In this role, you will:

  • Bring Creative Expertise: Functioning as a generalist with 2-3 areas of expertise, provide Global Affairs’s various teams with creative direction and hands-on support for high-level policy engagements and special projects. Working individually or through trusted vendors, assignments may include producing short videos or animations, designing executive presentations and print materials, building interactive spaces, or developing webpages.

  • Leverage Policy Instincts:  Bring a keen understanding of current policy challenges in entertainment and relevant experience developing narratives and creative materials that effectively reach policy audiences in multiple markets.

  • Be the Glue: Become part of the connective tissue between Global Affairs, Communications, Marketing, Brand, and Events, as well as external vendors, including creative agencies, productions studios, and designers, in order to scale and improve creative policy efforts.

  • Be Forward Looking: Collaborating across various  teams and leveraging policy insights, identify policy trends and engagement opportunities, and proactively address these issues through both short-term creative execution and long-term campaign strategy.

  • Support Netflix Leadership: Develop bespoke creative materials and provide in-person support to C-Suite executives during high-level in-person engagements and events.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of proven in-house creative experience, which may include a media or news outlet, tech companies, entertainment studios, or creative agencies.

  • 3+ years on a policy-focused team as project manager or lead, or leading individual contributor.

  • A knowledge of the political, media, and entertainment landscape, including current events, news trends, prominent policy challenges, and social media strategy.

  • Degree in Media & Communications, Journalism, Writing, Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience working in political campaigns, creative PR, or corporate public policy.

  • Significant past work on a global or large multi-regional team.

  • An eye for messaging and experience with “economic impact” and “soft power campaigns.”

  • A “jack of all trades” creative skillset, with extensive expertise in at least 2-3 fields, preferably video production, design, writing, or event management.

  • Experience owning a range of project types, from small and bespoke assets for one-time use, to large events, projects, and campaigns (individual budgets over $100,000 and timelines spanning beyond six months).

We Need Someone Who…

  • Can hit the ground running and work autonomously, but does not hesitate to team up or ask for support, clarity, or feedback.

  • Is intellectually curious, demonstrates great initiative and will welcome the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization.

  • Can work cross-functionally with a variety of teams and synthesize a collection of viewpoints into actionable next steps and creative outputs.

  • Can juggle multiple projects at once - often across several teams and timezones.

  • Is willing to travel frequently and internationally

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
