Join the dynamic team at Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector as a Senior Sustainment Program Manager in the, Northridge, CA. As part of the Advanced Weapons Business Unit (AWBU), you'll spearhead pioneering capability enhancements to the Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) franchise program.

We're seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the execution of sustainment and legacy product contracts, stand up a new missile-to-aircraft integration capability, develop a sustainment roadmap strategy for upgrades and obsolescence for an ACAT-1 level program. Your mission? Develop an enduring sustainment operational model with corresponding action plans and implementation strategies coordinated across all customer stakeholders. 

As the Sustainment Program Manager, you'll galvanize cross-functional teams towards common program performance goals, guiding them through every phase of the program life cycle, from inception (proposal development) to execution and contract closeout. Responsibilities:

  • Lead a cross-functional organization aligned to common program performance goals, with a focus on sustainment and repairs, including integrate logistics support (ILS) elements
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs of major programs, including periodic estimates at completion (EACs)
  • Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program gate review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
  • Effectively communicate progress to customers, senior leadership and companywide audiences
  • Participates in the negotiation of contracts and contract change management
  • Establishes program milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules
  • Identifies program problems and determines solutions, including the creation and execution of return-to-green (RTG) plans
  • Conducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realization.
  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, capture plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract
  • Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer
  • Establishing a program organization that effectively addresses customer requirements and incorporates the necessary internal and external sub-organizations
  • Leading and directing cross-functional teams to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives
  • Measuring and reporting program performance
  • Delivering presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholders
  • Managing contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditions.
  • Identification, distribution, tracking, and completion of program requirements
  • Identifying, allocating and managing program resources, including workforce planning
  • Managing Government/customer supplied property or information (GFE, CFE, etc.)
  • Managing suppliers to meet program objectives.
  • Adherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards
  • Ensuring program team understands and adheres to contract scope, and manages change through control board activities
  • Development and adherence to master plans and schedules
  • Proposal execution management for major development and production programs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of experience, Masters with 8 OR PHD with 6 years of experience
  • 10 years of experience leading high performing team
  • Related experience includes professional and/or military experience in sustainment, repairs and integrated logistics support
  • 10 years of demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule and at or under cost
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in continuous evaluation)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing environments, while maintaining consistently high customer relations, service, and engagement
  • Experience within the Aerospace and Defense industry
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with proven ability to develop and maintain strong internal/external customer relationships
  • The ability to apply knowledge, insights and understanding of business and financial concepts, tools, and processes to the benefit of program decisions, actions, and performance
  • The ability to identify and address program impacts through a systematic, proactive, approach to issue and problem resolution that identifies, communicates, monitors, and promptly resolves conflicts
  • The ability to address program uncertainty through an organized and analytical forward-looking approach that identifies risks and opportunities, determines appropriate handling plans, and manages, controls, and communicates risks and opportunities
  • Experience managing programs as the Prime Contractor
  • Active Secret Clearance

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site in Northridge, CA. No remote/telework arrangement is available for this position.

Salary Range: $180,600.00 - $271,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
