Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Manager of Program Finance to own unit economics and product-level P&Ls across our hardware product lines. This role sits at the intersection of Program Management, Finance, Sales, Manufacturing, and Engineering, turning production and cost data into the revenue, cost, and margin analysis that the leadership team relies on program decisions, pricing, and proposals.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the program managers and growth team to forecast hardware bookings and revenue, applying unit costs to get to forecasted margins

  • Build and maintain unit economic models for each product line — pricing, BOMs, labor, overhead, yield/scrap

  • Monitor manufacturing operations to ensure production is in line to achieve builds necessary to fulfill demand, understand cost structure and production variances, and manage inventory levels (raw material, WIP, and finished goods)

  • Partner with Mission Ops and Engineering to estimate the cost of maintaining fielded units and to maintain pricing models for sustainment and software revenue

  • Build financial models to support pricing and proposal efforts with defensible, auditable cost data

  • Support make/buy, sourcing, and capital equipment decisions with cost-benefit analysis

  • Own product-level P&L reporting to Finance and Operations leadership, leading analysis of monthly and quarterly results, including variance explanations and financial performance trends

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of corporate finance, financial planning, consulting, or analytical experience, ideally in a manufacturing or technology environment.

  • Working knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

  • High integrity, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to operational excellence.

  • Advanced Excel modeling skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • MBA or advanced degree in a finance-related discipline.

  • Background in manufacturing, hardware, or technology-driven production environments.

  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, and/or Datarails

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
