Title: Manager, Production Management

Reports to: General Manager of Production Department

Location DMG MORI Manufacturing, Davis, CA

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

Classification: Exempt

Travel: 0%

This position has access to equipment and/or technology that is subject to U.S. export control restrictions. Hiring by DMG MORI must be made in compliance with applicable regulations.

The Production Management manager will manage the production, shipping schedule and machine specifications to ensure the ex-factory date requested by the customer, distributor, or sales. The Production Management manager will create the production schedule with proper lead times, and maintain schedule accuracy.

  • Review and create 6-month production plan based on Biz plan and back log order from sales department
  • Communicate with the Sales Department to get machine PO on time.
  • Check the contents of machine PO including specification, delivery date and price then process machine order by transferring it to production system.
  • Create and adopt the production schedule to include the first process date and ex-factory date with proper lead time with design, procurement, and production based on the machine specification and request from sales department. 
  • Answer ex-factory date to sales based on machine specification with proper lead time with design, procurement and production.
  • Communicate with design, procurement, assembly and inspection for necessary action after the machine specification change happened.
  • Confirm all the necessary conditions for exporting machine including incoterm, E/L, check sheet, and all approvals
  • Answer ex-factory date to sales in a timely manner and report about delay accordingly.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by reviewing production schedules and estimating future requirements
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including positive approach, accountability, sense of humility and responsibility.
  • Observe company rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production planning processes
  • Strong and persuasive professional communicator
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills, with high attention to detail

Work Environment

General office environment will be experienced. There will be periodic exposure to manufacturing environments which may present hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery.

Physical Demands:

Frequent: sitting at desk utilizing computers and phones. 

Periodic: business travel (domestic/abroad), standing, walking, repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements. 

Occasional: bending, stooping, and lifting.
