About Us

Higharc is a VC-backed startup that is changing how new homes are designed and built. Join a founding team who’ve shipped products for Autodesk, Electronic Arts, Nike, and Apple. We have rasied a total of $83M with support from top-notch venture capital firms and more than 18 strategic investors—industry leaders in construction, building products manufacturing, and distribution.

Higharc is seeking an accomplished Product Design Manager to lead our growing Product org. In this role, you'll be the manager of the design and end-to-end experience of a product from conception to launch in partnership with product managers and engineers.

What You'll Do

Serving as a player–coach, you’ll balancing hands-on individual contributor design responsibilities with leadership duties to support team growth and deliver high-quality product experiences. Expect to:

  • Build and manage a talented team of designers and leaders that consistently delivers on projects and is well-balanced across a range of design skill sets.

  • Be responsible for overall team performance and health, resource allocation, and project prioritization.

  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into useful and valuable products incorporating expertise in UX design, 3D real-time experience design, and workflow design.

  • Cultivate a healthy design process for the team, and be a key contributor to your organization's product strategy, driving business outcomes through design.

  • Effectively communicate your team's product goals (both within the team and outside the team), and connect related projects across the company so that problems or joint decisions can be resolved quickly.

  • Proactively solicit and provide feedback from designers and a broader product team in order to continually raise our bar for quality.

  • Stay on top of industry trends and emerging technologies, including advancements in Artificial Intelligence, 3D real-time tools, shopping and configurator products.

About You

You’re a product-minded design leader who thrives on solving complex problems and crafting user-centered solutions. You’re passionate about improving how people design and live in their homes—and energized by the opportunity to make a meaningful dent in an outdated industry.

You have:

  • 7+ years of hands-on design experience

  • 2+ years as a people manager: building, managing, and leading design teams

  • A strong portfolio that showcases your process, thinking, and ability to simplify complexity

  • Experience with intuitive design (configurator or otherwise)

  • A systems-thinking mindset with the ability to balance detail with big-picture product vision

  • Innovative design systems thinking with a bias towards craft and excellence

  • Deep user empathy and a clear, confident communication style with your direct reports and crossfunctional teams.

  • Comfort articulating trade-offs, managing ambiguity, and driving toward clarity in fast-moving environments

A major plus if you also bring:

  • A background or passion in architecture, construction tech, or home design

  • Familiarity with 3D tools or environments (e.g., Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Unity, Three.js)

  • Both B2B and consumer design experience

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
