About the Role

We believe in making wellness more accessible, and design is central to achieving that mission. We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Design Manager to join our US-based team and help lead the next chapter of ClassPass growth.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategic oversight and hands-on design work. You’ll manage a small, high-performing team of product designers at ClassPass, leading initiatives that span both our consumer and business experiences. This role reports directly to the Director of Product Design and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Research.

Who You Are

You bring a high bar for craft, a proven track record of creating best-in-class consumer experiences. You’re passionate about coaching designers to deliver their best work and thrive on solving complex user—and business problems. When needed, you're not afraid to dive into the details and roll up your sleeves. You’ve led teams of high-performing designers and are adept at driving clarity and focus in a fast-paced environment.

We’re looking for someone who is hands-on, ensuring your team produces exceptional work that impacts the wellbeing of customers globally, helping ClassPass fulfill its mission of “every life fully lived.”

Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor a growing team of product designers, guiding their career growth, craft development, and day-to-day contributions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to define and execute a long-term, ambitious vision for ClassPass—shaping strategy and roadmaps that drive user growth and business impact.
  • Lead by example through hands-on design work, delivering best-in-class experiences across high-impact projects, ensuring top-quality execution and user-centered design at every stage.
  • Represent ClassPass Design in cross-functional forums, advocating for the customer and ensuring their needs are at the forefront.
  • Foster a culture of critique, collaboration, and iteration within your team and across the broader design organization.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our design systems, processes, and practices in partnership with the design leadership team.
  • Ensure consistency in design quality and execution across all ClassPass work streams, raising our standards of excellence.
Qualifications
  • 8–10 years of product design experience, with 1-3+ years managing designers.
  • A portfolio showcasing high-craft consumer experiences, from concept to shipped product.
  • Demonstrated success designing and shipping features in high-scale consumer environments.
  • Mastery of Figma and a strong understanding of modern UX and visual design best practices.
  • Clear, compelling communicator who can drive alignment and momentum across disciplines.
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks is a plus.
Pay transparency

It is Mindbody’s intent to pay all Team Members competitive wages and salaries that are motivational, fair and equitable. The goal of Mindbody’s compensation program is to be transparent, attract potential employees, meet the needs of all current employees, and encourage Team Members to stay with our organization.

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.

The base salary range for this position in the United States is $161,000 to $205,000. The total compensation package for this position may also include performance bonus, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.

Sound like the role for you? We’d love to hear from you! Even if you’re not 100% sure about potential fit, we still encourage you to apply. We’re looking for the right person, not the perfect series of checkboxes.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
