About The Role

We're looking for a Manager of Approvals to lead a team responsible for reviewing and approving products, packaging, and marketing for our global intellectual properties. In this role, you'll ensure our IPs are represented accurately and consistently, support eCommerce and manufactured goods initiatives, and help deliver high-quality fan experiences.

Reporting to the Director of Approvals, you'll manage a team, improve processes, and work closely with internal and external partners across the U.S. and worldwide to maintain the integrity of Crunchyroll's IPs.

Key Responsibilties:

  • Manage and mentor a team of three to five Approvals Associates, including hiring, training, and engagement
  • Set expectations, track goals, and ensure team members meet performance standards
  • Improve processes, enforce approval standards, and maintain quality control
  • Review and approve product, packaging, and marketing materials for global IPs
  • Organize, photograph, track, and ship samples internationally
  • Create and maintain IP-specific style guides and usage guides
  • Communicate daily with internal teams and external partners
  • Maintain and present updates and status reports at team and department meetings
  • Understand Licensee and Retailer goals to facilitate accurate approvals
  • Curate data (approval rates, speed, etc.) and artwork (collecting, organizing, commissioning)
  • Collaborate with internal teams to plan and develop product lines for Crunchyroll eCommerce and manufactured goods
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of sample storage spaces

We are considering applicants available to work a hybrid schedule, with three days each week onsite at our Dallas office.

About You
  • 8+ years of professional experience, including 2+ years in product approvals, preferably within an anime, entertainment, or gaming company
  • 2+ years experience managing teams in approvals, production, or related operations
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and engage a small team effectively
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, initiative, and follow-through
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Creative and critical thinking to provide solutions
  • Attention to detail and commitment to IP quality standards
  • Comfortable with both data curation and creative/artwork processes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite and/or Google Suite, and experience with approvals software (e.g., MyMediaBox)
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
