As Manager of People & Development, you will be a key player in driving Wurk’s People initiatives forward. You will champion the company culture and the employee lifecycle to support the company’s sustainability and growth. At a tactical level, this position provides immediate response and support to the company on HR issues, such as employee relations, compensation, benefits, conflict resolution, and risk mitigation, and works promptly and thoughtfully to resolve these issues. You will be expected to handle sensitive and confidential information. Thus, you must possess a substantial degree of judgment and discretion. This role will report to the General Counsel. 

Responsibilities 

  • Partner with the General Counsel to improve the employee experience and to develop and implement HR strategies and initiates aligned with the overall business strategy. 
  • Manage and develop the People & Talent Coordinator. 
  • Bridge management and employees by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues. 
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process. 
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance. 
  • Maintain the Total Rewards programs, including benefits, compensation, LOA, etc. 
  • Own learning and development needs across the organization to foster growth and fill gaps. 
  • Maintain excellent standards of HRIS data integrity, including regular audits and compliance checks. 
  • Process payroll bi-weekly and support employees with cases around payroll. 
  • Administer HR policies and procedures; appropriately collaborate with General Counsel to ensure policies comply with laws; deliver training to managers and employees as appropriate to ensure understanding and compliance with policies. 
  • Support Legal and Finance with special projects, like audits. 
  • Promote Würk’s mission, mindset and Results on Purpose initiatives. 

Required Skill Sets and Experience 

  • 5+ years of relevant human resources experience 
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a closely related field 
  • Proven ability to support innovation and change 
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to multi-task in a busy, fast-paced environment 
  • Experience in dealing with complex employee relations issues 
  • HRIS and solid data and technical competency 
  • Strong familiarity and experience executing HR disciplines 
  • High degree of collaboration and team orientation 
  • Critical skills necessary to build trust and relationships as well as to partner with all levels of management 
  • Ability to share and seek feedback from others constructively 
  • Preferred: SHRM-CP or PHR certification

The base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 based on candidate's experience, education, and geographic location.
