- Provide deep insights into medical expense trends and develop mitigation strategies to improve cost efficiency and care quality
- Support value-based care initiatives by aligning financial planning with clinical outcomes and organizational goals
- Act as a liaison between central finance teams and field operators, ensuring alignment on goals, metrics, and execution
- Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for non-financial stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting, budgeting, and performance management processes
- Mentor and develop junior finance team members, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and open communication
- Oversee P&L management, including variance analysis and financial reporting-leveraging insights similar to those seen in roles for physician groups and delivery systems
- Operational Finance & Analytics
- Drive financial performance monitoring through metrics and KPIs; translate operational and financial data into actionable recommendations
- Support care delivery leaders with staffing analytics, cost-containment strategies, and efficiency initiatives
- Business Partnership & Advisory
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to clinical and operational leadership, bridging care delivery strategy and finance
- Participate in value improvement initiatives, new program implementation, and ROI analysis for growth opportunities
- Systems, Improvements & Controls
- Implement and optimize financial systems and data processes for accuracy in forecasting, reporting, and analytics-referencing system improvement leadership seen in Optum corporate roles
- Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a finance team supporting operational finance across CA. Mentor direct reports, foster collaboration, and encourage continuous improvement

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field / relevant experience
- 5+ years of finance experience, preferably within healthcare delivery systems
- Proven solid FP&A background-budgeting, financial modeling, variance analysis, P&L accountability
- Proven ability to collaborate with operational/clinical leaders to drive financial performance
- Proven solid Excel skills
- Proven expertise in financial systems (budgeting tools, reporting platforms-e.g., Essbase, PeopleSoft, etc.)
- Work onsite in the Irvine, CA office on a hybrid schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, MHA
- Experience in healthcare care delivery or similar operational environments
- Team management experience designing and scaling finance functions
- Experience in managed care or integrated delivery systems
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills. Experience with PowerBI
- Solid understanding of value-based care models and health economics
- Demonstrated leadership in matrixed organizations and cross-functional initiatives
- Demonstrated expertise in medical expense analytics and cost containment strategies
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders through data-driven insights
