What You Will Contribute:
 

The Manager - Utility Solutions is responsible for delivering a strategic consultative approach and sales execution to their assigned target accounts and Badger Meter Utility Sales team. The focus of this team is to maximize Badger Meter market share and enhance prospect and customer experience with Badger Meter for National Strategic Accounts.

You will be responsible for providing the high level  support to all regions in the areas of consultative sales direction, Bid / RFP response information, shortlist presentation, system pre-installation planning with the customer, participation in technical seminars, representing Badger Meter at assigned trade shows, lunch and learns, and industry events. This position requires detailed technical knowledge and understanding of Badger Meter’s full utility product line.

We are open to candidates who reside in; Denver, Co, Phoenix, AZ, California, and Texas.

Job Duties:

  • Assist the sales team in closing designated strategic, large and high-profile opportunities and provide progress of sales projects at reasonable intervals or in response to specific inquiries.  

  • Create and deploy the proper win strategy for designated strategic opportunities and strategic RFP/Bid responses by working directly with proposal team, account managers, management, outside partners, consultants and the prospect/end customer.  

  • Forge relationships with national engineering firms, partners, consultants, key personnel in assigned target/regional accounts, and WBE/DBE firms in order to increase success in strategic opportunities.  

  • Assist Marketing in providing the proper representation of Badger Meter at national shows, conferences, webinars, presentations and speaking engagements as well as presentations to key prospects, target accounts, and customers.  

  • Remain proficient and up to date in meter and system technology, competitor changes, new strategies, pricing, introduction of new products, or changes in existing products.  

  • Conducts pre-sales support for target accounts and regional activity in such a manner as to comply with all governmental requirements applicable to the sale of Badger Meter’s products.  

  • Provide pre-sales strategic assistance for their specific target accounts, region and the other target accounts/regions on an as needed basis, including pre-sales technical assistance such as solution/system design.  

  • Work with account managers and/or distributors to develop creative and unique solutions to issues or hurdles that utilities are facing.  

  • Respond to customer and prospect inquiries, RFP / Bid requests and questions in a timely manner as required.  

  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.  

  • Up to 75% travel required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communication, Information Sciences, or related field required.

  • 3+ years of related experience desired; Prior experience in the Water/Utility Industry a plus. Significant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required

  • Advanced proficiency with CSM System required

  • Top-down selling ability required

  • Effective communication/presentation skills, including ability to communicate to C-suite clients required
