Primary Purpose
The Manager of Marketplace Delivery Partnerships serves as the primary subject matter expert on all third-party marketplace relationships that support ADUSA's digital commerce ambitions across its great local brands. This role is focused on developing and optimizing partnerships with key delivery marketplace platforms such as DoorDash, Instacart, Uber and any other emerging or established partners that drive customer reach and revenue through third-party channels. This position plays a key role in ensuring that the output of these marketplaces is optimal, and that we hold our third-party partners accountable for the results of the platforms.
This role manages the day-to-day marketplace partnerships including partner evaluation, performance oversight, as well as supporting the brands in their connections with our partners on marketing and merchandising collaboration, loyalty program integration supporting contracting, and the execution of joint growth strategies. As marketplace delivery continues to scale, this business line is responsible for driving a significant share of e-commerce sales and represents a critical component of the long-term Digital strategy.
This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day partner performance, including identifying opportunities for improvement and holding partners accountable to deliver against these improvements. They will also coordinate cross-functional alignment across marketing, merchandising, digital operations, and brand teams, and ensuring marketplace experiences meet both brand and operational standards. This includes supporting the overall 3rd Party Partnerships team in managing RFPs and negotiations.
This role acts as the subject matter expert on all things in the third-party marketplace, providing insights into industry trends, best practices, and platform capabilities. The Manager will partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that marketplace partnerships align with brand goals, customer expectations, and digital growth objectives.
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Chicago, IL.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Marketplace Partnership Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all third-party marketplace delivery partners (e.g., Instacart, DoorDash), cultivating strong relationships, addressing operational and considered needs, and identifying opportunities for mutual growth. As well as developing and implementing market growth strategies in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Marketplace Expertise: Develop deep subject matter expertise in partner platform capabilities, integrations between the partners and ADUSA systems/processes, functionality, promotional tools, merchandising levers, and performance metrics, to advise internal teams and improve collaboration and outcomes.
  • Brand Alignment & Advocacy: Function as a liaison between marketplace partners and our five grocery brands, ensuring initiatives align with brand objectives, digital strategies, and customer expectations.
  • Marketing & Merchandising Execution: Collaborate with internal marketing, merchandising, and loyalty teams to coordinate and optimize campaigns, promotions, and placements on partner platforms that drive traffic, conversion, and sales.
  • Performance Oversight: Monitor marketplace delivery performance and customer experience, resolve issues in collaboration with partners, and implement solutions that uphold operational excellence and brand standards.
  • Planning & Growth Enablement: Support initiatives and contribute planning which aligns marketplace capabilities with business goals, focusing on increasing market share, expanding reach, improving ROI, and delivering omnichannel value.
  • Business Reviews & Performance Management: Lead business reviews and present strategic recommendations with marketplace partners and internal stakeholders, presenting data-driven insights, identifying risks, and recommending optimizations.
  • Contract Management and Negotiation: Own contract negotiations and ensure compliance with SLAs(managing partnership contracts, ensuring terms align with business objectives, and enforcing adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) to maintain high standards of performance and accountability)
  • Data-Driven Insights: Collaborate with our Data and Analytics team to identify trends, generate actionable recommendations, and support decision-making to drive success.
  • Strong Organizational and Presentation Skills: Maintain excellent organizational practices to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and create impactful presentations that clearly communicate data, insights, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective Team Contributor: Contribute to a Last Mile Solutions department that demonstrates partnership behaviors, builds cross-functional connections, develops industry-leading expertise, puts development front and center, and fosters a culture of belonging.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, marketing, supply chain, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a retail, eCommerce, or FMCG environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor or partner relationships with measurable outcomes.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to inform decisions and drive performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with GIG Economy platforms or third-party marketplaces (e.g., Instacart, DoorDash,Uber).
  • Familiarity with digital commerce trends, platform integrations, and merchandising tools.
  • Experience supporting contract negotiations or managing service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Understanding of key financial metrics and their application in business decision-making.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives or projects in a matrixed organization

ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range: $92,640 - $138,960
IL/MA/MD/NY Salary Range: $106,480- $159,720
Actual compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on their unique qualifications and experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Final compensation decisions will be made in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
