The Instructional Design Manager will hold a pivotal position in our product management team. Are you ready to lead a world-class team of instructional designers and make a significant impact on educational products? At Cengage, we are searching for a dedicated Instructional Design Manager to join our ambitious team in the United States. This outstanding opportunity allows you to craft the future of learning by developing innovative, engaging, and effective educational solutions. In this role you will partner with product management, user experience researchers and designers and our portfolio management teams to craft sound

What you'll do here:

  • Lead and mentor a team of instructional designers to build flawless educational products.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully implement instructional design strategies to all our products.

  • Implement an instructional design strategy for use across the Cengage portfolio of products that include top-tier instructional design standards.

  • Coordinate the design and development of learning materials, including online courses, multimedia content, and assessments.

  • Manage a team of instructional designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment and supporting the professional development of team members.

  • Manage multiple instructional design projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

  • Utilize data analysis and learner feedback to continuously improve training programs and instructional design practices.

  • Stay current with industry trends in instructional design and Edtech, incorporating new insights into training strategies.

  • Evaluate and incorporate feedback to continuously improve our products.

Skills you will need here:

  • 5+ years of experience in Instructional Design and at least 1 year in a people management role.

  • A degree or equivalent experience in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field

  • Proven experience in designing learning experiences for external audiences, ideally in the Edtech industry.

  • Proven experience in instructional design, with a strong portfolio of completed projects

  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and methodologies

  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate the efficiency of instructional materials

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.  Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$88,600.00 - $105,000.00 USD
