As an Engineering Manager, you will report to our Sr Manager of Infrastructure engineering, overseeing the health and performance of the team. You'll guide the team through designing scalable and sustainable solutions for routing, switching, and protecting Riot's Esports regions across multiple titles. You'll help identify technical gaps and resourcing needs to increase efficiency and improve processes. You will hire and grow the team as we develop fantastic new products that increase fan engagement on a global scale.  

This role will require international travel as we support global events working inside and outside the US. Expected travel is up to 20% per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the team is building products that meet our high engineering standards
  • Manage a team of network engineers
  • Management duties include coaching, holding all accountable to best practices and their individual growth plans
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive team where all members feel they have a voice and are welcome
  • Oversee the technical health of the product and taking an active part in its design & implementation
  • Build healthy relationships with other engineering teams at Riot to foster cross-team collaboration
  • Mentor engineers in best practices for the current product phase

Required Qualifications: 

  • 3-5+ years professional experience as a network engineer
  • 3-8 years (depending on degree); previous manager experience
  • Experience collaborating across departments to create solutions
  • Proficient with implementing Scrum/Agile development methodologies and ensuring adoption within the organization

Desired Qualifications:

  • CCNP/JNCIP (enterprise routing/switching)
  • Experience with Palo Alto appliances
