At Vanta, our mission is to help businesses earn and prove trust. We believe that security should be monitored and verified continuously, and we empower companies to practice better security and prove it with ease. Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it.

As the Manager of Tech Sourcing, you’ll be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team of technical sourcers focused on identifying and engaging global engineering talent. This is a high-impact, strategic role where you’ll partner closely with recruiting leadership and engineering leaders to build proactive, scalable talent strategies that directly shape the trajectory of the business.

At our core, we believe that sourcing is not a stepping stone to recruiting; it is a distinct, critical discipline that demands its own expertise, rigor, and excellence. Exceptional organizations are built on exceptional talent and sourcing plays a pivotal role in uncovering, understanding, and engaging the game-changing individuals who can redefine what's possible.

We’re looking for a sourcing leader who shares this belief. Someone who can lead with vision, execute with precision, and elevate the function as a true strategic partner to the business.

What you’ll do as a Sourcing Manager at Vanta:

  • Build and Lead the Sourcing Function: Establish and scale our engineering sourcing team, defining best practices, workflows, tools, and metrics.

  • Team Development: Hire, coach, mentor, and manage a team of technical sourcers. Create career development plans and foster a culture of excellence and collaboration.

  • Strategic Talent Mapping: Drive market research and talent intelligence initiatives to identify critical skill gaps, talent clusters, and emerging trends.

  • Pipeline Ownership: Build and maintain strategic talent pipelines for high-priority engineering roles across software, infrastructure, and security.

  • Partnership with Engineering: Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to understand team needs and deliver sourcing strategies aligned to business goals.

  • Data-Driven Decisions: Use data and sourcing analytics to continuously improve pipeline quality, outreach effectiveness, and team performance.

  • Employer Brand Activation: Partner with marketing and recruiting to position our company as an employer of choice in niche engineering markets.

How to be successful in this role:

  • 10+ years of experience in technical sourcing or recruiting, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing sourcers or recruiters.

  • Proven experience building and leading technical sourcing teams in high-growth environments that require balancing immediate hiring needs with future talent demand.

  • Expertise in passive candidate engagement, talent mapping, and funnel strategy for complex engineering roles.

  • Deep understanding of sourcing tools, CRM systems, and boolean/X-ray techniques.

  • Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills across both recruiting and business stakeholders.

  • Strong operational ability (project management, prioritization, and execution) in fast-paced environments.

  • Passion for developing talent and building inclusive, high-performance teams.

What you can expect as a Vantan:

  • Industry-competitive compensation

  • 100% covered medical, dental, and vision benefits with dependents coverage

  • 16 weeks fully-paid parental Leave for all new parents

  • Health & wellness and remote workplace stipends

  • Family planning benefits through Carrot Fertility

  • 401(k) matching

  • Flexible work hours and location

  • Open PTO policy

  • 11 paid holidays in the US

  • Offices in SF, NYC, London, Dublin, and Sydney

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors and may vary based on candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials.

At Vanta, we are committed to hiring diverse talent of different backgrounds and as such, it is important to us to provide an inclusive work environment for all. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender identity, age, religion, sexual orientation, veteran or disability status, or any other protected class. As an equal opportunity employer, we encourage and welcome people of all backgrounds to apply.

About Vanta

We started in 2018, in the wake of several high-profile data breaches. Online security was only becoming more important, but we knew firsthand how hard it could be for fast-growing companies to invest the time and manpower it takes to build a solid security foundation. Vanta was inspired by a vision to restore trust in internet businesses by enabling companies to improve and prove their security. From our early days automating security monitoring for compliance standards like SOC 2, HIPAA and ISO 27001 to creating the world's leading Trust Management Platform, our vision remains unchanged.

Now more than ever, making security continuous—not just a point-in-time check— is essential. Thousands of companies rely on Vanta to build, maintain and demonstrate their trust— all in a way that's real-time and transparent.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
