At Raptive, we believe in empowering creators beyond advertising, ensuring they thrive in every aspect of digital publishing. Email marketing is a vital channel in our marketing ecosystem, enabling meaningful engagement, driving key business outcomes, and delivering value to independent creators at every stage of their journey.

We’re looking for a Manager, Email Marketing to lead the execution and optimization of our email marketing program. This hands-on role is responsible for the end-to-end management of campaigns–from strategy and segmentation to buildout, testing, and performance analysis. The Manager will work in close partnership with the Director of Email Marketing and collaborate cross-functionally with content, design, product, and marketing stakeholders to deliver impactful email communications that are timely, relevant, and aligned with Raptive’s brand voice and goals.

The ideal candidate has experience executing campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), with the ability to build personalized and dynamic messaging using AMPscript and audience segmentation powered by intermediate SQL proficiency. This is a highly collaborative, execution-focused role that requires strong attention to detail and a data-informed mindset.

If you’re passionate about lifecycle marketing and helping independent creators grow, engage, and succeed, we’d love to meet you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Campaign Development & Execution
    • Build, test, and deploy email campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, using dynamic content, automation workflows, and personalized experiences.
    • Write and implement AMPscript for personalization and dynamic content rendering within SFMC.
    • Own and maintain the email marketing calendar, ensuring alignment with broader marketing initiatives and business priorities.
    • Partner with the Director of Email Marketing and internal stakeholders to translate business needs into strategic, targeted messaging.
    • Collaborate with content and design teams to produce visually compelling, on-brand communications.
    • Streamline campaign timelines, manage approvals, and ensure high-quality, timely execution.
  • Performance Analysis & Optimization
    • Monitor and analyze email performance metrics (CTR, CTOR, unsubscribe rate, email influence on pipeline, revenue attribution, etc.) and translate insights into optimization strategies.
    • Conduct A/B testing to improve engagement–subject lines, content blocks, layouts, CTAs, and send times.
    • Use data-driven insights to inform targeting, segmentation, and automation strategy.
  • Audience Management & Deliverability
    • Manage segmentation and audience targeting strategies to improve engagement and personalization.
    • Maintain list hygiene, monitor bounce rates, and troubleshoot deliverability issues to optimize inbox placement.
    • Use SQL to query data, build custom segments, and support reporting and campaign logic.
    • Leverage both SQL and AMPscript to enhance dynamic content and personalized user journeys within SFMC.

The skills and experience you bring to the job:

  • 3–5 years of experience in hands-on email marketing, ideally in a fast-paced digital or content-driven organization.
  • Expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), including tools like Email Studio, Journey Builder, and Automation Studio.
  • Proficiency in AMPscript for implementing dynamic content and personalization in SFMC emails.
  • Intermediate SQL skills–comfortable writing queries for segmentation, reporting, and campaign logic.
  • Deep understanding of email best practices, including compliance, segmentation, testing, and lifecycle messaging.
  • Experience developing and executing A/B tests and optimizing based on performance data.
  • Analytical mindset–able to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills; thrives in a cross-functional, collaborative environment.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable to shifting priorities and timelines.

Nice to have (but not required):

  • Familiarity with customer engagement platforms like Braze or Iterable.
  • Experience using sales engagement platforms such as SalesLoft.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
