Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

We are at a very exciting stage of evolution at Netflix. With the growth in employee population, lines of business, geo-diversity, and heterogeneity of the workforce, it is imperative that the Talent function evolves accordingly to shape and support this progress.

The Department Assistant (DA) team is situated within the Service Delivery arm of Talent Operations.  The DA Program provides a cost-effective temporary admin support solution to maintain business continuity and build talent density for Netflix.  Though DAs are the largest vertical within Service Delivery, they are consistently embedded within our customer groups.  DAs work alongside the teams they support, fostering impactful relationships and branding for the program and Talent.  The DAs are divided into two specialty groups: Content and Corporate.  We are looking for a Manager for our Content group.

About the Role:

As we continue to grow and innovate, we are seeking a dynamic people leader to support our Content DA program. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing and coaching small-to-medium teams, navigating the entertainment industry (particularly in the early careers studio space), driving internal customer/stakeholder relationships, and maintaining fast-moving and fluid operational systems.

Other sought-after attributes include being a self-starter, comfortable working autonomously while also being highly collaborative, a strategic and embedded partner to the content business, and highly tuned with our culture and customers.

In this role you will:

  • Manage and coach a team of 18 Content DAs

  • Strategically assign the weekly schedule for DAs under this role’s remit (generally completed a month or more in advance).

  • Define creative solutions to meet business needs and anticipate future requests

  • Build out intentional and data-supported monthly training/programming to build talent density among the DA team

  • Maintain our relationship with the UCAN Content team (Content Executives, HRBPs, and Talent Acquisition), ensuring that stakeholder feedback is regularly collected, assessed and sunshined to the DA leadership team

  • Partner with Content HRBPs and TA proactively to identify signals of shifting business needs

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including peer leaders within regions (LATAM, EMEA, and APAC), to support sustained alignment of the roadmap with strategic goals

We want someone who has:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field

  • 3+ years of people leadership, with small-to-medium-sized teams under remit

  • Strong knowledge of entertainment assistant coaching best practices

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. In particular, outstanding capacity to connect dots, tailor messages to audiences, and to simplify the complex

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess operational challenges and contribute to effective solutions

  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and ethical decision-making

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and manage multiple priorities and deadlines

At Netflix, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your personal top of market. We rely on market indicators to determine compensation and consider your specific job, skills, and experience to get it right. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location.

The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically 180,000-270,000. This market range is based on total compensation (vs. only base salary), which is in line with our compensation philosophy.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
