Our first product, Capital One Slingshot, has been in general availability since 2022 and has big plans for customer growth this year. Data is fundamental to everything that we do at Capital One Software. Our Data Governance team, part of the Data & Analytics organization, is seeking a Manager, Cyber Risk and Analysis, to apply industry data governance best practices, risk management and analytical expertise to ensure the effective execution of data management operations and the successful delivery of data-related projects.
In this role, you will collaborate with data producers and consumers, technical teams, and risk advisors to lead and implement data management practices and risk solutions to ensure Capital One Software's continued stability and success. You view security and compliance as enablers and differentiators that drive business innovation. Your work with the business involves designing, implementing, and operating effective data controls that protect against threats, support business objectives, and facilitate growth, with a strong emphasis on leveraging public cloud services and modern software engineering.
As a Cyber Risk & Analysis Manager, you will partner with leaders and their teams to identify and mitigate potential risks, enhance processes and operations, and pursue automation opportunities. Responsibilities :
This role supports Capital One Software's Data Governance strategy by providing services and governance to ensure our business and technology stakeholders meet both divisional and enterprise Requirements. Specifically, this role will:
  • Lead the development of a Capital One Software governance service model that meets the Enterprise Data Management policy requirements
  • Interpret and communicate/present appropriate data management requirements to Capital One Software senior leadership.
  • Influence leadership with recommendations for data governance control and process improvements on an ongoing basis.
  • Proactively identify changes in our products features and evaluate their impact on the control and governance framework needed to maintain our data governance risk posture
  • Execute, monitor, and analyze data management operational and risk metrics and reporting for Capital One Software's Tech, Product, Operations and Marketing business areas
  • Collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to update policy requirements, expand data management practices, and refine related processes and metrics reporting
  • Work effectively across multiple organizations and roles including Software data SMEs, technical teams, Business Risk Offices, and Second Line Risk Management
  • Support key program initiatives as Capital One Software advances its data transformation in new cloud-based platforms and solutions
  • Lead and execute specific operational initiatives and projects as assigned

About You:

Basic Qualifications :
  • Bachelors Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years leading complex Data Risk initiatives in a cloud architecture
  • At least 5 years of Risk Management experience
  • At least 4 years of Technology experience in data security, data analytics, or cybersecurity
  • At least 4 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

Preferred Qualifications :
  • 5+ years of experience with data management at an enterprise level
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in a Data Ecosystem
  • Industry Data Management or Data Risk/Security related certification including Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Risk & Information System Control (CRISC), or Certified Information Privacy Professional (any discipline) (CIPP)
  • Strong relationship building skills, customer focus and ability to collaborate across teams to deliver
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), and ability to execute autonomously and balance work priorities

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Remote (Regardless of Location): $144,000 - $164,400 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Richmond, VA: $144,000 - $164,400 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
