What you’ll do:

  • Analyze: You will manage a team as they gather data via our multiple data sources to answer pertinent business questions, gather insights, and present meaningful information and stories back to the team.  
  • Strategize: Understand business challenges and work proactively with senior management to discover data insights that enable efficient growth.
  • Innovate: Determine & help build the best tools to mine data, automate reporting, and present complicated data insights as intuitive stories to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Automate: Help teams make their workflows and processes more efficient.
  • Communicate: Understand technical problems and communicate them effectively with business users. Explain methodology used in analysis in simple terms.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage a team of data analyst(s) to support the business’s growing data needs 
  • Be a hands-on project owner of various implementations and data integrations
  • Help set-up and maintain the financials and analytics ‘data hub’
  • Put in place appropriate data schemas and drive the ‘tie-out’ practices across our systems
  • Work closely with various business units/product owners to define various project’s scope and assign resources from the team to support. Educate and inform leadership to drive more data-informed decisions
  • Identify areas of improvement for the business and new product opportunities
  • Continuously assess, implement and streamline different data sets and analytic tools
  • Enhance transparency around data decisions: document and publish data governance decisions and run-down data quality issues at the source
  • Recommend ‘best practice’ designs of financial and data processes where necessary to ensure scalability, efficiency, and a modern cloud set-up
  • Set standards and processes for analysis, reporting and dashboarding
  • Develop interactive and visual dashboards to highlight trends and opportunities
  • Help set-up and maintain the financials and analytics ‘data hub’
  • Put in place appropriate data schemas and drive the ‘tie-out’ practices across our systems
  • Manage the access, configuration, and functionality of core business systems (e.g. Redshift, Looker, Segment, etc)

What You'll Bring:

  • 4+ years of professional data analytics working experience, ideally within ecommerce 
  • 4+ years of experience with database software (SQL, Google Bigquery, etc) with the ability to query, join and transform data from multiple sources
  • Experience in Analytics and Machine Learning tools (Anaconda, Python, R, SQL) 
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python 
  • Experience managing a team (does not have to be direct line reporting)

Big Pluses:

  • Experience and comfort in moving from data to insights (e.g., strategizing, analyzing, and recommending business solutions) 
  • Training in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Mathematics  
  • Experience using additional programming languages such as Java, R, PySpark, VBA

Compensation:

Our overall compensation and rewards package includes base pay, bonus or commission, and a variety of benefits. Base pay is determined within a range that allows you the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.  The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $158,100-$214,000 (this range may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions).  Your initial base pay will be determined based on several factors, including demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, experience, qualifications, travel requirements, and job location.
