At Warner Chappell Music (WCM) - the global music publishing arm of Warner Music Group (WMG) - we shape the culture of songwriting and champion songs that resonate for generations by creating transformational opportunities for songwriters everywhere. Our people and culture are at the epicenter of our company, and we are looking for team members who share our service-oriented mindset and have a passion for looking after our songwriters.

Job Title: Manager, Data Analytics & Automation (DAA)

A little bit about our team:

As part of the wider Global Strategic Integration and Operations (SI&O) team, Warner Chappell’s Data Analytics & Automation (DAA) team is focused on working alongside other parts of the business to automate, design, and implement strategic data and analytics projects. Data is a critical part of everything we do, and the DAA team helps unlock insights for our leaders around the world.

Your role:

Supporting the Senior Manager, Data Analytics & Automation, you will work in a future-focused, fast-paced and dynamic environment, integral to the development, delivery, and enhancement of bespoke analytical and visual projects across various business areas globally. Working with the wider team, you will collaborate with key stakeholders across multiple departments to deliver on in-flight and future requirements for the Warner Chappell business.

This role will expand your music industry knowledge, giving you a thorough understanding of all its processes and nuances, and provide you the opportunity to grow your technical skill set.

Here you’ll get to:

  • Become an analytical partner for key stakeholders across multiple departments, while also working across the wider DAA team.

  • Own projects from start to finish, determining the proper implementation and approach appropriate for the project’s requirements.

  • Deliver bespoke analysis, data delivery, and visualizations in line with the needs of each department from top level through to granular analysis.

  • Create processes, data pipelines, and final data product deliveries, including dashboards, data extracts, etc. in line with the expectation of each department.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and teams across WMG to ensure current and future analysis needs are captured and any risks or deficiencies are escalated.

  • Design and write data queries and workflows that can be shared across the team and directly with departments.

  • Contribute ideas for how to innovate, improve, and create more efficient ways of delivery analysis.

About you:

  • You enjoy collaborating with others and are open to trying new and varied approaches to problem solving.

  • You are comfortable writing and understanding intermediate-level SQL queries and are knowledgeable of various database principles and concepts.

  • You are passionate about problem solving, and are adept at breaking complex problems down into smaller components.

  • You have the ability to work independently and can own a project from planning to delivery.

  • You are passionate about the music industry and songwriters.

We’d love it if you also had:

  • A general interest and understanding of programming concepts and programming languages.

  • A working knowledge of music publishing, how it fits into the wider music business, and the types of data that are typically used within the industry.

  • Experience using Python and common data analysis libraries (pandas, NumPy, Streamlit, etc).

  • Experience creating dashboards and data visualizations.

  • Proven experience working with large data sets in a reporting and analytical capacity.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced professional environment.

  • A growth mindset, interested in building upon and expanding your current skill set.

About Us:

Before the fans and fame, the soundtracks and syncs, there is the song. And before the song comes the songwriter - the heart of an art form that defines generations, and the soul of our business. Songwriters are our inspiration; we are their partners, collaborators, and crusaders. Songwriters shape culture; and here at Warner Chappell Music we help hone their craft, build their careers, and protect their legacies. Here, we turn dreams into stardom and audiences into fans. We are guided by three core values that underpin everything we do across all our diverse businesses:

  • Curiosity: We do our best work when we’re immersing ourselves in culture and breaking through barriers. Curiosity is the driving force behind creativity and ingenuity. It fuels innovation, and innovation is the key to our future.

  • Collaboration: Making music and bringing it to the world is all about the power of originality amplified by teamwork. A great idea, like a great song, travels globally. We ignite passions and build connections across our diverse community of artists, songwriters, partners, and fans.

  • Commitment: We pursue excellence for our team and our talent. Everything in music starts with a leap into the unknown, and we’re committed to keeping the faith, acting with integrity, and delivering on our promises.

WMG is home to a wide range of artists, musicians, and songwriters that fuel our success. That is why we are committed to creating a work environment that actively values, appreciates, and respects everyone.  We encourage applications from people with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.

Consider a career at WMG and get the best of both worlds – an innovative global music company that retains the creative spirit of a nimble independent.

As the home to 10K Projects, Asylum, Atlantic Music Group, East West, FFRR, Fueled by Ramen, Nonesuch, Parlophone, Rhino, Roadrunner, Sire, Warner Records, Warner Classics, and several other of the world’s premier recording labels, Warner Music Group champions emerging artists and global superstars alike. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
