Netflix’s Content Programming Strategy & Operations (CPS&O) team is looking for a Manager to join the team in the Los Angeles office, supporting Live Sports (e.g., WWE, live boxing, etc.). The CPS&O team reports into the Chief Content Officer, with this role reporting to the Senior Manager, CPS&O - Sports & Live.

The CPS&O team informs content decisions and drives content operations to deliver the most thrilling content offering and value to our members. We do this by:

  • optimizing our slate, programming and investments from pitch to play

  • leading cross-functional coordination and driving solutions for operational challenges

  • providing an informed perspective on future business development opportunities. 

We partner closely with our Content, Finance, Business Affairs, Data Science, Product, and other cross-functional teams. 

Responsibilities:

  • Leading performance analyses of Live and Sports content, including audience deep dives and data analysis to inform future content decisions

  • Lead deal analysis to support content negotiations from deal pitch/sourcing through renewal

  • Spearhead special projects for senior Netflix leaders and develop recommendations on key programming and operational issues, particularly in new business development areas

  • Scope, launch and lead cross-functional workflows and documentation that track the operational status of key Netflix Sports Live content

  • Monitor portfolio-level performance and provide recommendations on content investment priorities

  • Develop deep understanding of industry trends, competitor slates, and whitespace programming opportunities

  • Provide mentorship, thought partnership and guidance to junior executives 

  • Partner closely with Content, Finance, Business Affairs, Data Science, Product, and other cross-functional teams

Qualifications:

  • 4-7+ years of relevant work experience, MBA preferred

  • Deep passion for sports and the broader sports rights marketplace, a passion and knowledge of WWE and the broader Netflix sports portfolio (e.g., boxing, MMA) a plus

  • Experience in sports/ entertainment / investment banking / management consulting / media-focused technology role; prior experience in sports a plus but not required

  • Experience conducting quantitative analysis (including modeling) and qualitative analysis; can drive to insight and results using data

  • Project management / operational experience related to instituting / leading cross-functional working teams a plus

  • Excellent communication/presentation skills with a track record of presenting complex analysis to executives/senior management clearly and concisely

  • External-facing partner experience (e.g., client presentations, deal negotiations, account management) a plus 

  • Self-starter, with strong demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently, thrives in a fast-paced, always changing environment

  • Highly intellectually curious and has the courage to challenge the status quo and exhibits the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics. 

  • Excellent proficiency with MS Excel / PowerPoint; prior experience with Google productivity suite a plus

Due to the nature and scope of this role, we will run a background check prior to starting with us. 


Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $260,000.00 - $390,000.00.
