JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Competitive Intelligence, is responsible for tracking and reporting competitive intensity across Charter's footprint, focused on the Mobile product and supporting the work on the Residential segment. This individual will support a wide range of intelligence projects including Mobile Market Share, Mobile Porting Report and develop tools to educate internal audiences with competitive knowledge. This position reports to the director of Competitive Intelligence and works across internal teams; collaborates with third party intelligence providers.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifies, assesses, and sources intelligence from internal and external sources
Produces monthly mobile porting report to inform business decisions
Prepares the quarterly Mobile Market Share report and assists team on Residential market share reports
Leverages intelligences on competitive service areas in the Spectrum operating footprint
Analyzes market share and flow share trends for all competitors, at a local market level
Assesses growth opportunities and threats by geography and product
Analyzes offers and promotional tactics for national, regional and local competitors
Assists marketing and legal teams in developing and countering competitive claims
Keeps abreast of key industry and product trends
Gains an understanding of business needs and researches and recommends solutions
Maintains a focus on customer excellence and links to business challenges and objectives with tactical execution and results
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Strong knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and processes
Ability to conduct competitive analysis and business/ industry research
Solid understanding of field marketing and intelligence
Strong communication skills, including experience presenting complex information in a concise and easy to understand fashion
MS Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word- with high level of proficiency in Excel
Ability to manage large, complex data projects
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced dynamic environment with limited oversight
Ability to analyze and interpret data
Ability to effectively present information to management
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Ability to collaborate and foster relationships with others
Ability to think strategically and anticipate future trends, needs and expectations
Ability to analyze large datasets to summarize key trends and synthesize insights
Proficiency with Microstrategy and Tableau required
Proficiency with Think Cell, SQL and Alteryx preferred
Education
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Management, Finance, Statistics or Economics or equivalent work experience
MBA preferred
Related Work Experience
Marketing or Strategic Planning experience 3-5 years
