Job Description

Her Campus Media is seeking a Manager of Community who specializes in influencer and campus ambassador communities to join our team as a contractor through mid-December 2025. This person will play a critical role in creation and development of a new impact community for influencers, tasked with scaling and retaining members while providing thoughtful, strategic engagement opportunities,  recommendations and support throughout the community member experience. This person will also be tasked with managing the existing career-based community, Generation Hired.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Launch of new Her Campus Media owned, operated, and branded community

  • Create and deploy community-facing materials and programming initiatives (including but not limited to educational resources, newsletters, social media, events, and incentive opportunities) based on business goals, may include speaking opportunities

  • Determine community promotion and outreach strategies, reviewing application materials, approving prospective influencers, and conducting outreach and follow-ups as needed

  • Oversee the growth, performance and management of community social media account(s)  

  • Gather and leverage data and analytics to optimize and continuously expand and optimize our processes and offerings, ensuring internal databases and tracking documents are updated with accurate community information

  • Collaborate cross-departmentally with editorial, product & engineering, events, business development and integrated marketing objectives providing key insights and industry expertise to help us win business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or other college degree) preferred

  • 3-5 years of community management experience, ideally in-house at a brand and/or managing influencer and brand ambassador relationships and marketing programs 

  • Demonstrated strong interest and knowledge in the influencer marketing industry and Gen Z as well as a pulse on trends in the space

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to make decisions, liaise comfortably with external partners, talent managers, influencers/ambassadors, and manage relationships via email, on the phone and in person

  • Excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills

  • Rigorous attention to detail and eye for design

  • Superior organizational abilities

  • Self-starter with go-getter attitude, positive and upbeat nature, and excellent work ethic who is a team player and excited about working in a startup environment

  • Proficiency in social media, particularly TikTok and Instagram, as well as Mailchimp, Asana, Microsoft Office, Canva and Google Drive a plus

Additional Information

Salary Range $20-25 per hour

Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, experience, and other factors.
