About MicroTransponder

MicroTransponder, Inc. is dedicated to transforming the lives of stroke survivors through its innovative neurostimulation technology. The company's flagship product, the FDA-approved Vivistim® Paired VNS™ System, enhances stroke rehabilitation by pairing vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) with physical and occupational therapy. This approach leverages the brain's neuroplasticity to improve upper limb function, offering new hope to those with chronic arm and hand impairments following an ischemic stroke.

By integrating this therapy into rehabilitation programs, MicroTransponder aims to help stroke survivors regain independence in daily activities and enhance their quality of life. The company's commitment to advancing stroke recovery is evident in its ongoing research and collaboration with healthcare providers to make this therapy accessible to more patients.

About the role

The Contracting Manager is a critical, cross-functional role responsible for the development, negotiation, execution, and lifecycle management of customer contracts. This position works directly with customer contracting contacts while partnering internally with Field Sales, Senior Leadership, Legal, Finance, and other business units to support revenue growth, pricing strategy, and compliant contracting practices.

This role is ideal for an experienced contracting and pricing professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and can influence decision-making across the organization. An understanding of the MedTech industry, strong financial acumen, and knowledge of contracting within a regulated healthcare environment are essential.

What you'll do

Contracting & Pricing Strategy

  • Work with customer contracting contacts to receive, organize, and manage contract negotiations while working with the required internal functions (sales, finance, commercial operations, legal, etc)
  • Work closely with sales to manage the creation of customer contracts, including price analysis, financial modeling, contract drafting, and compliance monitoring.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of negotiated contracts—from strategy development and approval through implementation, performance tracking, renewal, and expiration.
  • Prepare pre-deal cost/benefit analyses for proposals; present deal recommendations to management and senior leadership.
  • Identify, assess, and recommend opportunities for renewals, price increases, and other value-maximizing strategies.

Contract Administration & Compliance

  • Administer and negotiate standard and non-standard customer contracts in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Coordinate legal review and internal approvals of contract terms and conditions.
  • Monitor contract compliance and performance using appropriate information systems; analyze and report results. Maintain accurate contract documentation, historical records, and reporting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic contracting partner to Sales, Finance, Marketing, Forecasting, and Account Management teams.
  • Counsel field sales on agreement terms and conditions, focusing on compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex customer requests and non-standard contracting scenarios.
  • Support ad hoc analyses and insights requests from Senior Leadership and Investor Relations.
  • Identify contracting and pricing trends, assess risks and opportunities, and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
  • Participate in special projects that advance broader organizational goals.

Operational Excellence

  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining urgency under customer-driven deadlines.
  • Evaluate and improve contracting and pricing processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Influence stakeholders and lead change, both with and without direct authority.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred, or extensive relevant experience
  • Experience in contract management, pricing, or commercial operations.
  • Prior experience in medical device, healthcare, or another regulated industry.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
  • Experience with contract management or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, DocuSign, or similar).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail and adaptability in a rapidly changing business.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of federal healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience supporting pricing and contracting strategy in a growth-stage organization.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
