Our team works with a multitude of high-growth startup clients from different industries and stages as their trusted advisor and hands-on strategic finance consultant.

As a Consumer & Retail Manager on the CFO Services team, you will help deliver world-class strategic finance advice and fundraising consulting directly to founders of some of the most exciting consumer startups. Key Responsibilities

This is a high-impact role working with our clients to:

  • Implement rigorous problem-solving to help solve clients’ most challenging issues on how to grow their businesses and manage their finances 
  • Bring the latest analytical techniques plus a deep understanding of financial modeling to help clients develop financial models, budgets, and forecasts
  • Develop models to track KPIs, analyze channel and SKU sales performance, enhance product margins, and forecast inventory & demand planning
  • Be the world’s preeminent tech-enabled financial services firm - a trusted advisor for our clients on their most important financial and business decisions
  • Become a trusted partner to clients in building the proper infrastructure to scale their business
  • Advise on tactics to drive measurable and sustainable improvements in financial and business KPIs
  • Keep business plans and projects on track and on budget with ongoing budget management and monitoring for variance reporting and rolling forecasts
  • Support successful investor discussions and board meetings by analyzing and tracking relevant KPIs
  • Support fundraising initiatives by drafting investor decks and assisting with mock pitches and term sheet comparisons  

In partnership with the team and cross-functional partners, you will also:

  • Identify areas of opportunity within the Consumer & Retail CFO Services offering and develop strategies to address them
  • Mentor new and less experienced members of the team
  • Develop new products and services that are valuable to clients and can scale across the CFO Services department
  • Recommend and drive process improvements to maximize accuracy and efficiency within our offering
About You

We are looking for people who demonstrate these aspects:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in strategic finance or business operations, including previous experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting and at a high-growth e-commerce/CPG company
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills with an ability to own complicated models end-to-end for a senior audience
  • Highly analytical with the ability to consume and process large amounts of unstructured information
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans
  • Ability to tackle and lead ambiguous situations without structured guidance
  • Strategic thinker and ability to independently carry out rigorous problem-solving
  • Strong interest and passion for the consumer & retail industry
  • This position is only available for remote employment in the United States in the following states: CA, GA, NY, NC, TN, TX, and WA

The base pay range target for the role seniority described in this job description is $103,000 - $175,000 in most remote locations, and between $129,000 - $175,000 in San Francisco, CA and New York City, NY. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors such as candidate experience and expertise, geographic location, total compensation, and market data. In addition to cash pay, full-time regular positions are eligible for equity, 401(k), health benefits, and other benefits; some of these benefits may be available for part-time or temporary positions.
