This isn’t your average BDM role. We’re looking for a founding Business Development Manager to help build, lead, and scale a world-class outbound engine - from zero to something extraordinary.


You’ll have the rare opportunity to shape strategy, hire and grow the team, and leave your mark on a GTM motion that powers a company solving one of the biggest challenges in healthcare. As brand ambassadors, it is our primary responsibility to educate and evangelize Sword Health to all employers, brokers, consultants, labor unions, public sector organizations, health plans, and other partners. We do this through strategic and effective engagement of the market.

What you'll be doing:

  • Build the Team: You’ll hire, coach, and lead a team of BDRs from the ground up - creating a high-performance culture that’s as hungry and mission-driven as you are.
  • Drive Growth: Own pipeline generation strategy across outbound and inbound. You’ll obsess over quality pipeline, tight targeting, and creative outreach that actually converts.
  • Develop Talent: Be the kind of leader people want to follow - mentoring early-career talent and building clear paths for growth and promotion.
  • Scale What Works: Implement tools, systems, and workflows (like Outreach.io) that make us smarter, faster, and more effective every day.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: You’ll partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Marketing, and RevOps to align on ICP, messaging, and campaign strategy.
  • Own the Metrics: Set and track KPIs that matter - from activity to conversion rates to pipeline contribution - and use that data to keep leveling up.

What you need to have:

  • 2 - 4+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, or GTM leadership at a high-growth B2B SaaS company
  • A builder’s mindset - you thrive in ambiguity and are energized by creating structure that scales
  • Proven success coaching and developing high-performing early-career sales talent
  • Data-obsessed: you love process, measurement, and knowing your numbers cold
  • Strong communicator and motivator - you lead with clarity and energy
  • Experience with tools like Outreach.io, Salesforce, Chorus, Notion, ZoomInfo, etc.
