Velocity Black is seeking a talented and dynamic Business Development Manager - Marketing, to manage key brand partnerships that will help elevate and tell our brand story across online and offline channels. As a growing company, we are looking for a strong leader who can own the partnership marketing plan end-to-end. This person will have a passion for forging mutually beneficial relationships with like-minded brands, is extremely organized and excels in project management, understands the core principles of all aspects of marketing that will help bring a partnership to life, and understands the nuances of the luxury space. They will be good at managing complex projects that span channels, teams and stakeholders.
In this role you will:

  • Work directly with the Head of Velocity Black Brand Marketing to identify, secure and grow brand partnerships that will help achieve the business' strategic marketing objectives
  • Oversee the planning, execution and performance of multi-channel partnership programs and marketing campaigns that drive awareness and demand
  • Work with legal, compliance, and supplier management teams to negotiate and execute contract terms
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional partners to ensure partnership assets are maximized and fulfilled
  • Work with the Content Marketing team and creative designers to promote and highlight the partnership throughout the marketing calendar
  • Partner with the enterprise brand teams to ensure alignment on the Velocity Black partnership strategy
  • Execute project deliverables on-time and on-budget
  • Influence and collaborate with cross-functional and regional executive teammates across multiple countries and timezones


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Deep experience in and understanding of how to develop successful brand marketing partnerships
  • Strong creative vision, with an eye on business objectives
  • Experience in creating luxury marketing experiences with internal and external partners
  • Excellent written, communication and verbal skills
  • A dynamic, creative and entrepreneurial mindset


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 3 years of marketing experience in a partner-facing role in an agency, startup, or corporate setting
  • At least 2 years experience creating full life-cycle marketing and advertising campaigns
  • At least 2 years of experience managing contracts
  • At least 2 years of experience in project management


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing or business
  • 4+ years of marketing experience in a partner-facing role
  • 3 + years experience in marketing
  • 3+ years experience in project management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Remote (Regardless of Location): $144,000 - $164,400 for Manager, Business Development
McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800 for Manager, Business Development
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
