Job Description

  • The Business Development Manager is responsible for the direction and management of a team of sales and customer service agents who support our Cosmetics & Hygiene site.
  • Collaborates with the senior management team to develop and defines sales strategies for achieving sales goals 
  • Manage the Customer Service function in support of sales and client invoicing 
  • Defines, tracks, and manages sales teams KPI/Metrics; financials, activities, pipeline, prospecting 
  • Maximize efficiencies of customer service organization to ensure ultimate client satisfaction 
  • Generate leads and sales through client and prospect relationship development. 
  • Close sales on prospective clients and maintain functional relationship with major accounts. 
  • Develop relationships with current clients to maintain business and obtain additional business from other areas within the account and referrals. 
  • Obtain master service agreements with perspective clients. 
  • Market research to assist in annual marketing and sales plan and assist the business development team with marketing ideas. 
  • Attend annual conference and assist with organization and implementation of marketing and sales activities and follow up on leads from referrals, trade shows, advertising, and the Company’s website.
  • Generate proposals for existing clients and prospects. 
  • Follow-up with new clients to ensure that the Company is meeting their needs and to expand business within a current client’s organization. 
  • Discuss with management new trends or new programs that should be explored that will improve or enhance the business and increase sales.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field in science or engineering AND experience in a clinical research environment preferred
  • 7+ years working in business development or sales 
  • Master’s degree in relevant field in science, engineering, or business
  • Business development experience in a CDMO environment preferred 
  • 3+ years of previous supervisory experience
  • Leadership capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • This role requires up to 40% travel for meetings, training, and business needs within the United States
