The Enterprise Services Risk organization is expanding with a focus on attracting innovative, pioneering, collaborative, and highly skilled professionals. Technical Risk Managers are experienced and progressive individuals who operate within a highly collaborative team environment to deliver value-added risk management services to our business partners. You will have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. Responsibilities require partnering with a broad set of leaders and stakeholders to identify existing and potential emerging risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.
In this role, you will:
  • Partner with product and tech leaders by leveraging a trusted advisor model to support business initiatives, issue management, process improvement, control testing and related risk assessment activities.
  • Perform risk reviews during various processes such as Risk Control and Self Assessments (RCSAs), Process Level Assessments (PLA), Exceptions, Applications, Targeted Risk Assessments and recommend on risk mitigation activities.
  • Develop risk analysis, perform deep dive investigations, and drive specific risk initiatives to minimize risk posture and strengthen overall control suite effectiveness.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business strategies, products, services, technology, and risk profile .
  • Implement improvements to reduce errors and make our processes more reliable and sustainable.
  • Ensure independent escalation of risk management gaps, issues, and concerns, including emerging risks and regulatory focus areas.
  • Consult on Risks across the first line of defense business partners providing advice and guidance as needed.
  • Manage multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines
  • Communicate complex ideas concisely and convincingly, adjust communication to the audience and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership.
  • Collaborative, values diverse perspectives and seeks insights from others. Brings energy to the group and rallies them around a common goal.
  • Support the Enterprise Services (ES) Risk organization by implementing new and innovative ideas.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in Technology Risk Management or Cyber Risk Management
  • At least 4 years of experience in Risk Management, Process Management, Project Management, or a combination
  • At least 4 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal and external business clients

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 5 yrs experience in Risk Management supporting platforms and tech products
  • At least 4 years of experience consulting with senior executives or strategy building
  • Risk Certifications (CRISC, CISM, CRCM, CIPP, ABA Risk Mgmt Certification)
  • At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal stakeholders
  • At least 5 years working with Technology in the Financial Services industry
  • Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills to confidently interact at all levels of the organization (e.g., enterprise business (product and technology) stakeholders, and executive leadership)
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills, customer focus, and ability to collaborate and influence across teams to deliver
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively respond to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
  • Ability to set direction, delegate tasks, and manage multiple stakeholder expectations

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Richmond, VA: $149,800 - $171,000 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
New York, NY: $179,700 - $205,100 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
