Boeing Commercial Airplanes is hiring a Maintenance Programs Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) to work at our Seal Beach, California location.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will translate complex engineering designs into practical, compliant maintenance programs that keep Boeing aircraft safe, reliable, and cost-effective in service. You'll own the development and verification of scheduled maintenance tasks, task cards, and technical publications, and use data-driven analysis to identify reliability trends and opportunities for improvement. You will be working cross-functionally with design teams, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and customers, you will influence product designs for maintainability and supportability, ensure compliance with Instructions for Continued Airworthiness and FAA/foreign regulations, and deliver customer-facing technical solutions. This role requires strong problem-solving and communication skills, the ability to mentor junior engineers, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including mid-level and senior.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Analyze complex engineering designs, supplier, and engine manufacturer design data to develop and validate scheduled maintenance requirements and repair procedures.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of maintenance program documentation, including scheduled maintenance requirements, task cards, and technical publications.
  • Perform reliability and trend analyses on maintenance data to identify root causes, reduce unscheduled downtime, and recommend maintenance improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis and problem-solving activities related to maintenance issues.
  • Develop and implement new procedures and techniques to enable users to maintain and repair products effectively.
  • Participate in organizational activities that influence the Aerospace Industry and contribute to best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Instructions for Continued Airworthiness and Federal Aviation Administration/Foreign Regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance programs.
  • Perform reliability and trend analyses on maintenance data to identify root causes, reduce unscheduled downtime, and recommend maintenance improvements.
  • Conduct engineering analyses to verify the accuracy of maintenance and repair data and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Influences product designs and processes to ensure safety, supportability and maintainability.
  • Interface with customers to support inquiries and develop technical solutions and evaluate customers' maintenance operations.
  • Guide changes in various airplane maintenance documents to enhance safety and maintainability.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance across cross functional teams.
  • Participate in industry forums and contribute to continuous improvement and standardization activities.
  • Works under general direction.

Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Seal Beach, California location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance programs, engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Familiarity with aircraft maintenance practices and regulations.
  • Have or have held an Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) License.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to influence product designs and processes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities with experience in customer interface.

Pay and Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range:
  • Mid-Level (Level 3): $111,350 - $150,650
  • Senior (Level 4): $135,150 - $182,850
