Job Summary:

The M&A Integration and Business Operations Manager is a high-impact, cross-functional role responsible for leading the planning and execution of acquisition integrations and driving operational alignment across Voyager’s growing portfolio of space, defense, and national security businesses. This role serves as a connective layer between corporate strategy and business unit execution — managing complex, multi-workstream programs from sign-to-close and through post-close integration.

The position reports to senior leadership and is based onsite in Long Beach, CA. This is an onsite role.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end integration planning and execution for M&A transactions, including development of integration project plans, workstream tracking, milestone management, and Day 1 readiness across HR, IT, finance, legal, and operations.
  • Serve as the primary integration program manager across cross-functional teams, driving accountability, surfacing risks and dependencies, and ensuring integration timelines are met within sign-to-close and post-close windows.
  • Partner with functional leads (HR, IT, finance, legal, operations) to assess integration complexity, resource requirements, and incremental OPEX implications of adding acquired entities to Voyager’s operating structure.
  • Build and maintain integration cost models and operational assessments, including back-office capacity analysis, consultant spend forecasting, and post-close investment requirements.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level reporting and communication materials for deal approval memos, integration status updates, and leadership presentations.
  • Identify and manage integration risks, including compliance obligations (ITAR, CMMC, export control), systems transitions, and cultural dynamics across geographically distributed workforces.
  • Support business operations initiatives beyond M&A, including process improvement, cross-functional program management, and operational scaling as the business grows.
  • Coordinate with external advisors, consultants, and integration specialists as needed to augment internal capacity and accelerate workstream execution.

Required Qualifications:

If your experience aligns with our basic qualifications and you are inspired by our mission, we’d like to connect.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or a related field with 5–7 years of experience in program management, management consulting, business operations, or a related cross-functional role OR Master’s degree with 3–5 years of experience OR 9 years of directly relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-workstream programs across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced or high-growth environment — including experience in management consulting, early-stage or high-growth companies, or similarly dynamic operational settings.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to build and manage detailed project plans, track milestones, and drive accountability across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Ability to develop executive-level communications, memos, and presentations that distill complex operational and strategic topics for senior leadership audiences.
  • Experience conducting operational assessments, including identifying resource gaps, capacity constraints, cost implications, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships and influence without authority across functions, business units, and leadership levels.
  • High proficiency in program and project management tools and productivity platforms; comfort operating in ambiguous, evolving environments where process is still being built.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in M&A integration planning and execution, including Day 1 readiness, post-close integration management, and integration cost modeling — whether in a corporate development, integration management office, or consulting capacity.
  • Familiarity with government contractor environments, including compliance frameworks such as ITAR, CMMC, CUI handling, or FAR/DFARS requirements, and the operational constraints these introduce in integration planning.

Additional Requirements

  • This role is onsite in Long Beach, CA. Candidates must be able to work onsite full-time.
  • Travel up to 20%, including overnight travel to domestic Voyager and portfolio company locations.
  • This position requires access to information that is subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations. Candidates must be a U.S. person (citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual) as defined by applicable law.

Compensation

The good faith base salary range for this role is $160,000–$180,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus. This range may be adjusted in the future.

This position is bonus eligible.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
