Group Overview 

Special Air Missions Group (SAM) is responsible for developing and delivering Metrea’s Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Special Mobility, and Aerial Firefighting (AFF) capabilities. SAM oversees the integration of new mission systems, ensuring operational readiness across specialized aviation operations. It manages fleet maintenance, regulatory compliance, and strategic partnerships to enhance mission effectiveness. By consolidating expertise and infrastructure, SAM ensures Metrea’s airborne capabilities remain adaptable and mission-ready across dynamic operational environments.

Position Summary 

This Logistics Specialist 3 is responsible for the support of material readiness, inventory and accountability of all corporate materials, aviation parts, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), tools, and commercial products as well as providing pricing and procurement solutions including customs and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) import and export processes in foreign countries in support of an OCONUS base of operations. 
**Role is contingent upon contract award**

 

Role and Responsibilities 

 

  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory, receiving packages, and shipping packages in accordance with customs and US ITAR processes in foreign countries including austere locations or arduous environments logistically difficult to support. 
  • Execute rapid procurement requests of aircraft parts, GSE, expendables, and required items. 
  • Ensure rapid delivery of all items (spares and commercial) via DoD and commercial freight or express methods. 
  • Use resourceful and creative sourcing methods to import or export equipment to austere locations. 
  • Complete accurate monthly inventories of all items (except weapons and classified material/COMSEC). 
  • Support the aircraft maintainers, program managers, and finance department to ensure accountability and status updates on procured and GFE items. 
  • Responsible for creating, tracking, receiving, and updating shipments. 
  • Initiate the purchasing process by creating purchase order requests within the procurement system. 
  • Maintain an updated inventory of required shipping materials. 
  • Provide support during the generation of business unit Request for Proposals (RFPs). 
  • Maintain and update administrative filling systems and databases for Import and Export Compliance. 
  • Maintain vendor relationships and responsible for sourcing new vendor relationships. 
  • Provide professional interface with direct customers and other associated elements of DOD when required. 
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Security, Quality and Company Policies.  
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other coworkers and supervisors through excellent oral and written skills. 
  • Must possess the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information. 
  • Coordinates ideas and resources to achieve goals. 
  • Ability to negotiate deals or compromises. 
  • Promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables.

Skills and Experience 

  • Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s preferred
  • 2 years’ work experience may be substituted for Associate's Degree 
  • Experience: 4+ years of equivalent work experience performing various administrative support functions including but not limited to creating purchase orders; maintaining inventory and procurement records; shipping and receiving goods internationally , 6+ years preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications 

  • Valid Driver’s License 
  • Must have a current US Passport  
  • Forklift Operator’s Certificate 
  • Hazardous Materials Shipping Certificate preferred 
  • Experience with Veryon/Flight Docs or similar platform preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 preferred

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

The daily working hours for this position vary Monday through Sunday. Hours and work shifts may vary in accordance with business needs. You will be scheduled to forward deploy/work approximately 60 days OCONUS followed by rotation off-site for approximately 60 days. Rotation schedule might be adjusted in order to meet program requirements.

 During deployment, employees will be living under field conditions and must be able to work with little supervision in austere or arduous environments. Work environment varies widely based on geographic location of contract operations
