OVERVIEW

As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing international trade operations. This includes managing a team that is responsible for all modes of exporting, importing, commercial & charter air supply chain processes to ensure efficient, timely transportation and delivery of goods. You will work closely with your direct reports, external suppliers, and transportation partners who coordinate shipments, track inventory, and optimize logistics operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers, freight forwarders, and other service providers to secure favorable terms.
  • Manage the end-to-end ocean import and export process, international ocean, international air including but not limited to evaluating quote requests, managing internal teams, ensuring proper documentation is administered, managing internal communication, and vendor management.
  • Manage the end-to-end commercial and/ or charter air process.
  • Creating and/ or adjusting SOP’s to better suit current business needs.
  • Manage shipments of goods, ensuring timely and promised delivery to international vendors.
  • Problem solving: Communicate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, carriers, and warehouses to identify, make swift decisions and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
  • Onboarding of new carriers, conducting scheduled and ad hoc conference calls.
  • Manage communication of daily updates to all internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to transportation and logistics.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS or BA degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field.
  • +3 years’ proven experience in logistics management, preferably in a manufacturing and/or retail environment.
  • People leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of CAFTA/ Chapter 98 trade agreement models.
  • Experience in working w/ NVOCC ‘s or Freight Forwarders, ocean steamship lines, and air service providers.
  • Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PPT, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, customs procedures, and international shipping requirements.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions to optimize logistics operations.
  • Long term vs short term Problem-solving skills to address issues and challenges related to transportation and logistics coordination.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and documentation related to logistics activities.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
