We are looking for a functional engineering manager to lead the Defense Logistics Engineering Group that is part of the Systems Engineering organization. This highly visible position is responsible for all aspects of Defense Logistics Engineering performance in support of all ES (Electronic Systems) Defense business areas, including the application of processes, tools, talent acquisition and development, and program performance. You will lead a group of 40+ individuals and participate in a digital transformation that embraces model-based engineering, model based Product Support/Sustainment, DevSecOps, and agile development and aligns with the direction of the overarching BAE Systems engineering organization.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and grow a best-in-class team of Defense Logistics Engineering personnel that deliver excellent results
- Cultivate engineering and operational excellence through best practices, agile practices, metrics and continuous learning
- Partner with business area leaders and other functional managers to ensure business objectives and strategy are achieved
- Work closely with Product Lines, Program Engineering Leads and Discipline Managers to staff near term project demands while defining and executing robust talent management plans
- Attract, retain, and develop a healthy pipeline of future leaders and engineering talent across the organization to support the business needs
- Identify, maintain, and develop key skills required to meet business objectives in support of a multi-year strategy
- Successfully drive continuous process improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies, meet cost objectives, support execution needs, promote agility and ensure adoption within the organization
- Establish goals and standards of performance, create budgets, staffing plans, and short and long-term strategic roadmaps/plans
- Administer performance, compensation, and recognition programs in alignment with business needs, company values, and budgets
- Understand government and industry trends and best practices to ensure BAE Systems develops and maintains the capabilities required to provide technical discriminators and is prepared for the future
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field that aligns with Acquisition Logistics and Sustainment Logistics with a minimum of 12 years of engineering management experience
- Minimum of 5 years as a direct people manager with experience coaching, developing, rating, planning career growth for department personnel.
- Understanding of government and industry Logistics related requirements in DoW and GEIA specifications and how to implement successful solutions that satisfy customer needs.
- Broad understanding of the DoW product development and sustainment lifecycle
- Knowledge of the DoW 12 Integrated Product Support Elements and how to implement their use
- Experience with Product Support Analysis and Logistics Product Data e.g. LORA, LCC, Spares modeling, Provisioning, MTA, etc.
- Proven track record of increasing responsibilities in managing organizations of significant complexity, including managing projects through all aspects of a products lifecycle from requirements thru development to sustainment and disposal
- Familiarity with TA-STD-0017, GEIA STD 0007, MIL-HDBK-502A, MIL-STD-1388 and other documents including services specific specifications
- Active Secret Clearance
- Eligible to obtain a TS/SCI Security Clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Proven ability to lead a dynamic organization across multiple sites
- Proven performance management, mentoring, coaching and communication skills
- Knowledge of and experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) leading towards implementation of Model Based Product Support/Sustainment
- Ability to lead Agile and digital transformation initiatives
- Familiar with implementing S-Series Product Support Specifications
- Understanding of Reliability/Maintainability Engineering, Configuration Management, Operations and Manufacturing
- Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) responsible for monitoring a projects cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Familiarity with Logistics Engineering tool e.g. EAGLE, OPUS, COMPASS, SIMLOX, SESAME, ICAPS
