Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Logistics Analyst located in Orangeburg, SC.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager the Logistics Analyst enhance product workflow by researching and developing logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory. Create and review logistics procedures to maximize client satisfaction and minimize cost.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Responsible for ensuring productivity, efficiency and management of various logistics operations. These operations may include, but are not limited to, tracking product shipments, contract negotiations, preparation of budget and cost analysis statements, creation of more efficient logistical planning, and coordination of shipments.
  • Recommend improvements to existing or planned logistics processes.
  • Researches for logistics data, using methods such as data mining, data modeling, or cost or benefit research.
  • Apply investigation methods or tools to comprehend, predict, or control logistics operations or processes.
  • Interpret data on logistics elements, such as availability, maintainability, reliability, supply chain management, strategic sourcing or distribution, supplier management, or transportation.
  • Prepare reports on logistics performance measures.
  • Write or revise standard operating procedures for logistics processes.
  • Confer with logistics management teams to define ways to optimize service levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency, or minimize cost.
  • Maintain databases of logistics data and information in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Provide ongoing researching in areas such as transportation costs, parts procurement, back orders, or delivery processes.
  • Develop or maintain models for logistics uses, such as cost estimating or demand forecasting.
  • Monitor industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics planning or execution.
  • Track product flow from origin to final delivery. Monitor flor of vehicles or inventory using logistics systems.
  • Define packaging requirements.
  • Compute reporting metrics, such as on-time delivery rates and order fulfillment rates.
  • Manage systems to ensure that pricing structures adequately reflect logistics costing.
  • Contact carriers for rates or schedules.
  • Communicate with or monitor service providers, such as ocean carriers, air freight forwarders, global consolidators, customs brokers, or trucking companies.
  • Compare locations or environmental policies of carriers or suppliers to make transportation resolutions with lower environmental impact.
  • Develop or maintain freight rate databases for use by supply chain departments to define the most economical modes of transportation.
  • Reorganize shipping schedules to consolidate loads, maximize vehicle usage, or limit the movement of empty vehicles or containers.
  • Develop or maintain payment systems to ensure accuracy of vendor payments.
  • Route or reroute drivers in real time with remote route navigation software, satellite linkup systems, or global positioning systems (GPS) to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Enter carbon-output or environmental-impact data into spreadsheets or environmental management or auditing software programs.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Typically requires 3+ / 5+ years of experience in materials or related field
  • Good comprehension of investigation and technical processes. May program relevant business systems. Demonstrates technical skills and comprehension of Flex’s functional standards. Has awareness of the functional impact upon work processes and other functions.
  • Ability to read, research and interpret general business documents and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and acknowledge to questions from managers and suppliers. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • APICS is preferred.
  • Impacts near-term (quarterly/semi-annual) operation success of the function. Enhances and provides input to functional processes or technologies. Demonstrates commitment to implement initiatives. Assists in achieving objectives for a functional area. May enhance functional processes or technologies.

Pay Range (Applicable to US Remote). Due to this role being remote, the actual pay range will vary depending on the geographical location of the candidate$50,500.00 USD - $69,400.00 USD Annual
