The Role

Come join the team responsible for localization at Netflix! We are a passionate team dedicated to bringing the Netflix experience to international markets. We are looking for a highly motivated Localization Producer (UCAN) who is excited to ensure that the Netflix experience is equally enjoyable across the globe. 

In this role, you will work cross functionally with Product, Content, Marketing, External Partners, QC, Linguists, and more. You will own the localization strategy & execution of the Nonfiction content slate and be responsible for the schedule, budget, quality of the localized assets that are created by our vendor partners. You will be accountable for the successful launch of the Netflix content experience internationally. 

The environment is fast-paced, requiring the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, manage cross-functional stakeholders and ambitious business goals and deadlines. You will need to demonstrate the ability to curate and disseminate creative context and content complexities to be successfully executed upon by our vendors, while maintaining a focus on operational excellence, creative excellence and quality.  You must be a systems-thinker, see how global/local, creative/operational needs intertwined and exhibit strategic leadership and problem-solving skills to manage a highly complex slate of content. The right mix of organizational and communication skills is key to success. Attention to detail and a proven ability to scale operations and manage priorities are also essential.

Responsibilities
  • Manage localization and requirements for a high-volume content slate across internal stakeholders and external vendors

  • Working cross-functionally with Netflix stakeholders to identify critical business blockers and collaborating to solve and optimize these

  • Oversee end to end localization workflow using our translation management tools and systems in close partnership with our external contractors & coordinators

  • Identify and manage project risk through prioritization, bug management, and any other means necessary

  • Maintain accountability with our external operational partners but also across Globalization and PDP title-launch teams (Localization Producers, Language Management, Partner Engagement, Launch Management, Launch Operations, etc.)

  • Fostering internal and external relationships and partnering with key stakeholders to define the content localization approach  for our high-volume content slates

  • Project kick offs & vertical meetings with relevant partners

  • Work closely with our Partner Engagement team to ensure quality of output with our vendors

  • Gather, analyze & report on your content slate’s data; looking for opportunities to optimize on workflows, inefficiencies or member issues that have been reported in partnership with functional teams

  • Coordinating efforts with cross-functional teams such as Globalization Solutions,  Dubbing, Content, Engineering, Product Localization, Language Management,  Customer Service, Legal and Design to sync development efforts and localization schedules where appropriate

  • Ownership of budget planning for content slate.

Requirements
  • 5+ years experience in localization production or project management working on language launches, creative content and/or subtitle localization

  • Solid in-depth knowledge of internationalization and localization

  • Working knowledge of industry standard localization tools

  • Fluency in other languages is helpful but not required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Localization Project Management, International Communication Studies or applicable equivalent experience 

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $70,000 - $370,000.

We also offer paid leave of absence programs.  Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
