About The Team and Role

eBay Live is a new way to sell on eBay, where sellers and buyers interact live on video. eBay sellers build buyer trust, expand their customer base, and grow repeat business through consistent and engaging live streams on eBay Live. 

We are looking for a strong leader to lead our trading cards case breaks business on eBay Live. Live Category Managers own the P&L for their live commerce categories, driving GMV by spearheading seller acquisition, development, and a pipeline of innovative live events. What you will do:
  • Category Growth & P&L Management:
    • Deliver GMV targets through strategic category plans, continuously refined by learnings from new content and format trials.

  • Seller Ecosystem & Success:

    • Recruit, onboard, and cultivate a portfolio of high-potential live sellers, brands, and creators.

    • Coach sellers on all aspects of live selling: from assortment and developing innovative run-of-show/format ideas to on-camera performance, live audience engagement, and using analytics for growth.

  • Live Content & Programming Innovation:

    • Develop a pipeline of engaging live events, fostering creative show concepts and encouraging sellers to test new, interactive "shoppertainment" formats.

    • Drive an editorial standard to elevate content quality and viewer experience.

  • Performance Analysis & Best Practice Development:

    • Track category performance and analyze outcomes from pilot programs and new format trials to identify key growth drivers.

    • Actively contribute to defining meaningful KPIs and scalable best practices for the evolving live commerce landscape.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operations:

    • Partner with internal teams (marketing, product, operations) to champion seller needs, share insights, and drive platform success.

    • Lead category-specific budgets and operational aspects efficiently.

What You Will Bring:
  • Breaks specific experience, whether professional experience, a side business, or deep personal passion

  • A point of view on what eBay Live needs to do to win in this market

  • Excellent analytical skills; you must be able to pull insights from data with facility, create and test hypotheses and read out your results and generally put together qualitative and quantitative data to drive forward a learning agenda

  • The hunger to work in a very fast paced startup environment with rapid iteration and flexibility to work extended hours if needed

  • The creativity required to work around product gaps to grow this business

The applicable base pay range for this position is dependent on work location. The base pay range in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metro and Seattle Metro is expected in the range below:

$151,200 - $201,900

The base pay range for all other U.S. work locations is expected in the range below: 

$108,400 - $186,400

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
