Vox Media is partnering with Seth Matlins to launch a new media franchise and community for the world’s most influential marketing leaders. Launching in early 2026, the partnership includes a new video podcast and a global series of live events.

We are looking for a high-energy Live Experiential Lead to build this business from the ground up. This isn’t just about event logistics; it’s about creating a differentiated environment and thriving community for executives who have access to everything. You’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of our events—from multi-day summits to small, frequent regional gatherings. You’ll partner with Seth on the production, building experiences that foster a strong community, both at the events, and other live moments.

We need a "high-agency" leader who is comfortable overseeing and operating all elements of event production: from room and stage design, AD, furniture and “set” sourcing, signage and materials design, to attendee, sponsor and event logistics and operations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead production: Own the end-to-end development and execution of our flagship summits, as well as our rolling calendar of smaller events.
  • Create a valuable experience: Ensure white-glove service for all attendees, sponsors and presenters of the events, coordinating all key logistical details to the community
  • Build community: Design environments that go beyond "networking" to foster genuine relationships among marketing leaders, building memorable moments and valuable experiences for the communities.
  • Manage the business: Manage and take ownership of the experiential P&L and budget. You’ll manage vendors and ensure we’re delivering for both the business, our members, and our partners. Lead the development of and oversee sponsorship opportunities and ensure partner experience and execution meets expectations and adds value to the overall event.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with Seth and partner with the Vox Media Podcast Network (VMPN) sales and production teams to ensure a seamless brand experience.
  • Build a support team: Build and manage a team that aligns to the overall goals and trajectory of the business.
WHO YOU ARE
  • 8+ years in high-end event production or executive community building
  • Experience managing complex P&Ls and complex logistics
  • A "builder" mindset—you like getting your hands dirty and creating things from scratch and are comfortable that no job is too small when it comes to ensuring an optimal experience
  • Someone who understands "prestige" and knows how to deliver a high-end experience without it feeling corporate or stiff

If you think you have what it takes, but don't meet every single point in our job posting, please apply with a cover letter to let us know how you believe you can bring your unique skills to the Vox Media team or get in touch! We would love to have a chat and see if you could be a great addition to our team. We’ve hired chefs who became editors, DJs who became UX designers, and sommeliers who became writers.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK

This job remote but iNew York City or Los Angeles are preferred.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
