About the Role

We're hiring a plaintiff-side litigation attorney to help drive Chariot's growing mass arbitration docket. You'll work with our legal strategy product team, ops team and outside counsel to initiate, prosecute, and resolve consumer arbitration cases across multiple sub-theories including but not limited to UDTP, privacy, data breach, and false advertising. Cases span household-name defendants and tens of thousands of claimants per campaign. You must be comfortable using legal tooling, AI and automation.

About Chariot Claims

Chariot Claims is an AI claims agent that helps consumers get paid for every corporate violation impacting them—data breaches, privacy violations, antitrust, and more. We’ve processed 65,000+ claims, with projected consumer recovery of $75M+.

Chariot builds technology to challenge the status quo. We take bold swings at the system to ascertain truth from stories, even if that means drawing legal/PR fire from established actors who are territorial and profit from the status quo.

As operators, we pride ourselves on our ethics, resilience, and humanity. With each turn, we emerge smarter, better prepared, and with more insiders who share our mission to build a better system. We’re already working with 20+ law firms, including several among the five most active complex litigation firms in the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve Chariot's case evaluation playbook — design the framework, run reviews, and codify it for scale and repeatability

  • Partner with co-counsel to run plaintiff-side mass arbitration campaigns end-to-end: pre-suit demands, notices of dispute, AAA/JAMS filings, IDRs, and settlement negotiations

  • Serve as Chariot's internal authority on case strategy, redlines, and substantive filings

  • QA demand letters, notice batches, and claimant communications pre-send

  • Evaluate and validate new case theories across consumer protection, privacy, and complex litigation verticals

Who You Are
  • JD and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • 5+ years of plaintiff-side litigation experience, ideally at a mass arb / consumer class action firm — backgrounds at firms like Gutride Safier, Lieff Cabraser, Grant & Eisenhofer, or similar plaintiff-side shops are an ideal fit

  • Direct experience with consumer protection, UDTP, privacy/wiretapping, data breach, and/or false advertising theories

  • Comfortable with high case volume and legal tooling/technology (AI, Automations)

  • Deadline-driven, organized, and pragmatic; able to make calls quickly without losing rigor

Why Join Us?
  • Massive Greenfield opportunity to build the litigation function inside a fast-growing legal tech company

  • Competitive salary, equity, and benefits package in a fast-growing, high-impact startup

  • Collaborative, smart, humble, mission-driven, high-vibes team that loves music

  • 2-4 off-sites per year in beautiful, cultural destinations; expenses covered for you and a +1.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
