Job Description:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare and timely submit government claim forms and supporting documentation in compliance with applicable requirements and deadlines.
- Review claims for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and agency guidelines.
- Monitor claim statuses and maintain detailed records of submissions, correspondence, and case activity.
- Track and manage Statute of Limitations deadlines to ensure timely filings and case progression.
- Maintain and calendar critical deadlines, reminders, hearings, and task assignments.
- Communicate with government agencies regarding pending, delayed, or denied claims and coordinate appropriate follow-up actions.
- Respond to requests for additional information, documentation, or clarification in a timely manner.
- Conduct background, documentary, and factual investigations related to party identity, location, assets, and case development in support of government claims and litigation strategy.
- Draft summons, complaints, and ancillary documents for attorney’s review.
- Send initial filing documents out for filing through a legal services company.
- Collaborate with pre-litigation departments to identify matters appropriate for litigation and facilitate efficient case progression.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing case-related information.
- Document key case developments, identify concerns, and assist in developing litigation strategies and case plans.
- Maintain and update case management software to ensure accurate case tracking, documentation, and workflow efficiency.
Requirements:
- At least 1-3 years of civil litigation experience
- Very well organized
- Good follow-up
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to handle large volume of cases and multiple cases at a time
- Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
- Bachelor’s Degree or two to four years of related experience and/or training
- Paralegal Certificate a plus
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
