Meet the team:

The Onboard Integration team, as a part of Software Platform, works closely with teams across Glydways spanning Vehicle Hardware to Autonomy to provide the software foundation for running and controlling the robot on the road.  Whether it’s streaming data from the latest sensors, controlling actuators on the vehicle, creating a custom OS and kernel, shipping a new ML framework, bringing a vehicle cabin to life with visuals and sounds, or writing tools and systems to support live track operations - the Onboard Integration team gets things done to keep the vehicle and other teams moving forward.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a custom, Yocto-based, Linux distribution, supporting multiple custom computer platforms, both with and without displays.
  • Board bring up of NVIDIA Tegra and NXP i.MX based compute platforms.
  • Linux kernel driver development for NVIDIA Tegra and NXP i.MX platforms.
  • Linux kernel support for full network, audio, and visual hardware.
  • Contribute to and select patches from various upstream, open-source projects.
  • Test custom board features in CI & HIL environments.
  • Long term support of Yocto linux distributions and Linux kernel for deployed products.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Linux kernel development.
  • In-depth knowledge of build systems like Yocto and Buildroot
  • Experience submitting and getting patches accepted by open source projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of C/C++ programming and shell scripting; other languages and skills are also valuable.
  • Experience developing on resource-constrained embedded hardware.
  • Experience with CI & HIL environments including testing and validating custom Linux based system compute systems.
