We’ve built an end-to-end logistics and supply chain platform that enables us to offer consumers a much more convenient solution at price parity with the incumbents. We’ve raised $300M from a number of VCs, including SoftBank, Sequoia, Atomico and GV (formerly Google Ventures). We have 800+ team members and tens of thousands of customers in 7 major markets across the US with plans to be in 50+ markets, domestically and internationally, within the next 5 years!

At Clutter, we're fortunate to be providing a consumer value proposition that people love and one that makes economic sense - a true product/market fit that few startups ever find. To deliver on our promise to consumers, team members and investors, we're focused on hiring, training and retaining exceptional individuals. This means that we have a very thorough interview process and maintain high performance expectations, but we'll always be transparent with you and respectful of your time.

This individual will need to be an effective hands-on operator as well as a strategic partner to a number of key internal and external stakeholders. This role will be part of the Leadership Team and report directly to our CEO.

What you’ll do:

  • Draft, review, interpret, and negotiate agreements covering the full scope of company’s activities, including corporate and financial transactions, commercial agreements, M&A matters, licensing agreements, service agreements, partnership agreements, sales and marketing agreements, and vendor agreements
  • Advise on intellectual property, regulatory, data privacy requirements and employment matters to mitigate risk
  • Lead company-wide regulatory compliance, including international regulatory matters
  • Represent company directly and/or manage outside counsel in litigation matters
  • Manage corporate governance and administration, including preparing Board of Director materials and corporate resolutions, managing local filings, and administering corporate records
  • Manage selection, retention, management, evaluation, and optimization of all outside counsel
  • Create, improve, and implement company-wide policies, procedures, and standard agreements
  • Maintain awareness of current and applicable developments in the legal and regulatory landscape; continually reviewing and analyzing trends that could impact company’s business

What we're looking for:

Values

  • Passion for building a world class legal, regulatory and compliance function by recruiting exceptional talent
  • Desire to be scrappy and continuously strive to do more with less while raising the bar

  • Ability to evaluate problems using a longer time horizon and not sacrifice long-term value for short-term results
  • Ownership mentality and propensity to take responsibility for key outcomes

  • Excellent legal and business judgment, strategic thinking, and ability to manage multiple matters, with a willingness and curiosity to learn areas outside of expertise
  • Ability to dissect and clearly communicate complex legal topics in a simple, actionable manner
  • Detail-oriented and organized leader, with unrivaled ethics, integrity, and ability to prioritize effectively to accommodate tight deadlines in a dynamic start-up environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop strong relationships across the company by collaborating with cross-functional teams
