Job Description
Sunbit is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its growing Legal and Compliance team. As Legal Counsel, you’ll have a broad range of responsibilities in supporting our Operations, Product, Analytics, and Marketing teams. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in helping a business to develop, launch, and operationalize cutting edge fintech projects. While experience in banking, consumer finance, or compliance is a plus, we’ll offer training to a motivated candidate with the right attitude.
What you’ll do at Sunbit:
- Work closely and build relationships with various internal teams to analyze and communicate legal risks, provide legal advice, and support such teams in relation to various operational, product, analytics, and marketing matters.
- Review and amend various marketing and training materials, consumer communication, and product materials.
- Draft applicable policies and procedures.
- Respond to various regulatory inquiries.
- Review, draft and negotiate vendor agreements.
What we’re looking for:
- Law degree from a reputable law school
- Membership in a State Bar
- 1-5 years of law firm, in-house, or government experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Impeccable organizational skills
- Superior analytical ability and strong attention to detail
- Collaborative nature
- Ability to work under pressure for a fast-paced growth-stage company, manage partner expectations, and prioritize multiple projects and assignments
- Experience in banking, consumer finance, or compliance is a plus
- Experience in open-end or closed-end consumer credit is also a plus
