In addition, you're a pragmatic thinker and good communicator with a first German state exam in law or a Bachelor of Law qualification. Ideally you are looking for a position in parallel to writing your doctorate thesis or in parallel to your legal training as a lawyer (Referendariat) for at least a period of 8-12 months.

Salary ranges for other locations vary from the range reflected above. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. What You'll Do
Flatiron's Legal team practices at the intersection of healthcare, research and technology. In this role, you'll work with the Legal team to provide legal support across Flatiron's international business in Germany, the UK and Japan. You'll work efficiently to drive our business forward, while maintaining high standards for professionalism and compliance. You can expect to support the Legal team with:
- Employment Law, Data Privacy Matters, Corporate Governance, Commercial Contracting and research legal questions e.g. on Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning - and other legal topics in the Tech & Life Sciences Law context;
- Support the contract lifecycle and executing agreements at scale:
- Draft contract templates and update existing templates;
- Drive accountability with cross-functional stakeholders, and occasionally outside parties, involved in contracting to execute agreements in a timely fashion;
- Route agreements for signature via DocuSign;
- Maintain Flatiron's contract repository in its contract management system;
- Provide project management support for team-wide projects:
- Work with external counsel or other Legal team members and cross-functional stakeholders to support operational improvement projects, and ensure a sense of urgency and timely delivery;
- Communicate progress and decisions clearly and regularly to stakeholders, escalating concerns as necessary.
You will also:
- Continually review and analyze legal risks and opportunities to Flatiron from the changing regulatory and competitive environments;
- Assist with a broad range of other healthcare regulatory matters including monitoring the enforcement environment, client training, and compliance policy development;
- Develop and maintain updated template agreements that reflect Flatiron's new and evolving products and services; and
- Build processes to allow Flatiron's teams to execute within a clear legal framework.

- You have taken the first German state exam in law or have a Bachelor of Law qualification
- You are able to work a part-time basis (2-3 days per week) for at least 8-12 months
- You are fluent in English (spoken and written)
- You are fluent in German (spoken and written)
- You have proven expertise and / or interest in Employment Law and Data Protection Law.
- You are a fast thinker and learner and have an interest in discovering new areas of law (AI / ML).
