The Gogo Legal Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all legal operations. This position will collaborate with the legal team leadership to optimize department operations and improve overall efficiency. This responsibility shall include supervising a senior corporate paralegal and project manager; implementation of guidelines and workflows to ensure efficient Department operation; development and tracking against annual budgets; real-time tracking of outside counsel expenses and management of the e-billing system, and the development and management of department metrics. The right candidate will work independently, prioritize workload, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively.

This position reports directly to the EVP, General Counsel & Chief Administrative Officer.

How will you make a difference?
•Supervise the Sr. Corporate Paralegal and Legal/HR Project Manager

•Develop, implement, and manage metrics for departments under the General Counsel

•Maintain the e-billing/matter management tool

•Update and maintain outside billing guidelines

•Develop and manage the legal department budget and implement cost control initiatives

•Act as primary liaison to Finance concerning the annual budget, monthly accrual reports, and forecasting needs

•Assist in the management of outside legal firms, including evaluation, selection, fee negotiations, and adherence to our billing guidelines

•Design, develop, and conduct RFPs for outside counsel or other external vendors

•Assist with new technology research and implementation, including AI

•Other projects/duties as assigned

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related Legal discipline•6-8 years of experience in legal operations. Preferably in a fast-paced corporate in-house environment, with at least five (5) years as the lead individual responsible for several of the responsibilities described above•3-5 years coaching, mentoring, and developing a team

Required Experience, Skills & Talents:
•Demonstrated knowledge of legal principles and practices, policies, and procedures•Strong knowledge of e-billing/matter management systems•Ability to problem solve and suggest/implement actionable recommendations•Exceptional written and oral communication skills, as well as strong editing skills•Strong technology skills (MS Office, PowerPoint, AI, and industry software)•Extensive experience with systems used by in-house legal departments for matter management and e-billing•Experience with, and enthusiasm for, process improvement, research, and problem-solving•Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. This position interacts with all legal department personnel, teams across the organization, and the executive team

Equal Pay Disclosure(s)

Base Pay:

112,000.00 - 140,000.00 USD Annual

Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:

Bonus Plan at 10% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
